A few questions about NVC I have not found answers for.

I have read as much on all the forums as I can to familiarize myself with the next step in this process. My petition I-130 has been accepted and will be sent to the NVC soon. In reading through the process, looking at others timelines, reading check lists, I have a few questions. I see something on timelines that says, " AOS Bill received", and "IV Bill received". What are these 2 bills for and how much are they? I have gathered that I will receive a check list including all this info but when money is involved I like to be prepared. Maybe this info is listed somewhere and I am just not seeing it because I have read so much. If so sorry for not seeing it ...

Thanks

Sizie

Hi Sizie,

We're just at that stage of the process (paid the IV fee today and the AOS fee last week) -- the AOS Bill refers to the Affidavit of Support Fee (a fee for processing the I-864 affidavit of support), it's $120 and you should get the invoice for it with your NVC welcome letter (and should be able to pay for it then as well). After you submit the DS-261 Choice of Address and Agent form (it's at the CEAC website where you can pay the fees) and it's processed, you should get the invoice for the IV Fee (the fee for the immigrant visa application) which is $325 (we were able to pay for it a day after getting the invoice by email) and after that's processed, your husband will be able to actually fill out the IV application (DS-260).

Yeah Thank you both so much. I feel like we can finally get a little excited. No word for 9 months, so when we got the approval of our I-130 it was great news.

Everyone should check the YES but not everyone gets the card. It used to be that more people didn't, than did. But I think that's changed over time and most do. I didn't obviously. LOL
