Hi Guys,

Our case got approved with a NOA2 on November 2. It was received by NVC on November 20th and then sent to the US embassy in Islamabad Pakistan. The case file was received by the embassy on November 25th. So far our case has been updated twice on the status check page. The last updated date was on Dec 4th 2015. My question is when will we get the 3.5 packet from the embassy and can we go ahead and fill out form DS-160 and submit it or should we wait for instructions from the embassy? I am a little worried after the recent attack in California and the impact it may have on the K-1 visa. Can anyone tell me what to expect when dealing with the US embassy in islamabad?

Hello

I also had my fiance from Pakistan come over on a K-1 Visa. The Embassy (for some odd reason) seems to email packet 3.5 to the U.S Citizen. They sent out the email to me a few days after it was sent from NVC. You might want to follow up with the embassy about this email.

When my fiance got the info, he filled out the DS-160 and sent in the documents they were asking for. Then about a week later he received a call from American Express to pick up a letter (interview letter).

He had his medical done and then he had the interview.

I wouldn't worry too much about the recent attacks affecting your case. Just be open and honest and everything will be okay Insha Allah. Very best of luck!

We almost have the same timeline. Embassy received on 25th Nov. I don't remember when but after a week we sent an email to the embassy asking for further instructions. Idk if it was because of that but we received the 3.5 email on 4th Dec.

They send the email to the U.S petitioner. If you are the petitioner, make sure to check your spam folder or any other folders or ask your fiancee to search. This is the email you put on your I-129F.

If there is still no email, you can either wait or send the embassy an inquiry.
