Advice for NVC? (Mexico ir1-cr1)

My case was sent to NVC and was wondering if there was anything I could do to speed up the process by gathering the right paperwork ready to send ASAP. I heard they want originals, police certificate, passport copy, and some other things and I looked at their website but I'm still confused. Hopefully someone can give me their insight of whats required.

Im filing for my husband who lives in Guadalajara, Mexico has never been to the US.

Did nvc sent you letter and asking for process to start? If it is then when you start filling the affidavit forms in meanwhile ask your husband to make police report, because mostly police reports are active for 6 months. Send all the fees online that makes quick and make everything online, except what is required in paper form.

I would start gathering the paperwork as soon as you can. The NVC received the case from the USCIS for my husband in August and it took a couple of weeks for us to complete the DS-260 online because my husband didn't have the best internet in Mexico City. It then took us another 2 weeks to pull all the paperwork together. It's good to go ahead and pull together what you can in the meantime, the NVC website has all the documents listed and some items may take more time to obtain. My husband had to travel to get a certified copy of his birth certificate in the state he was born (in Michoacan) and with his work was unable to make the trip right away. I guess my point is that, do what you can while you wait which will hopefully make things move faster for you and your husband.

Thanks! I just called NVC and they already recieved my case just waiting for the case number. Im gathering the last things and should have everything done by this week. Really appreciate it your help!
