I filed a i-130 for my son, but i missed the response, can i request to resend that mail?

Hi guys!

i already was worried due this... and it happened... as i mentioned in other instances... i had to move and i didnt had the new address when i filled the form, i left one neighbor in charge of my email and 5 days after moving my neighbor called me telling me that i receive the response from the USCIS.. i immediately asked to resend it to my new address... it has passed one months of that... the worst it happened, the mail got lost, i am dealing with USPS with he name, the sender and the date to see if they can locate the mail.

what can i do in this case?

can i inform to the uscis the situation so they resend the mail.. can that be done? how?

i entered to that site, and chose the second option (did not receive notice by mail) which is the one that apply to my situation (i think)... but i cant proceed since it ask me for a receipt number... and i don't have it! that was supposed to be in that letter i missed

what can i do?

will i have to file and pay again for a i130?

No, they still should have gotten your petition.

It's probably best to call USCIS and get the receipt number on the phone. You'll need information verifying that its you -- your name/DOB and your son's name/DOB.

i called

They gave me the case number

and told me that the notification i missed was jut a courtesy note indicating that they have received it

i must wait about 175 days now to hear again from USCIS!

Well hopefully now you can send in I-865 and provide the new address to USCIS so you can get any further USCIS notices.
