EAD/AOS for K1 Visa Holder

hi everyone, pls i need help. i came in with k1 fiancee visa on august 27th and it was converted to I-94 which expired on the 24th of November. i applied for

EAD/AOS on the 23rd of Nov after my wedding. i received my I-797C for both EAD/AOS yesterday. my question is

1. My drivers licence expired on the 24th of Nov. with the I-797C (notice of Action) for those in Maryland, can i go for renewal of my drivers licence?????

2. When can i expect my EAD to come in? and also whats the time frame for the bio-metrics to be done from the date i received the I-797C .

Drivers license requirement vary from state to state, check your particular state's DMV, or similar-named department. Similar topics are often discussed in the Moving to the US and Your New Life in America Forum, check in there.

EAD and AP applications take 60-90 days to process.

may 14th 2015- Petition approved by the USCIS

July 29th- visa given in Lagos Nigeria

August 27th- arrived US via ATL POE

sept 8th- SSN given

Sept 18th- LP recieved from MVA to expire on Nov 24th.

Sept16th- Married my fiancee

Nov 23rd- applied for EAD/AOS

December 2nd- recieved I-797C (notice of action for Both applications)

  • Valid, unexpired U.S. passport form FS-240, DS-1350 or FS-545
  • Valid, unexpired permanent resident card, form I-551, issued by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS)
  • Certificate of naturalization, form N-550 or N-570 issued by the U.S. DHS
  • Certificate of citizenship, form N-560 or N-561 issued by the U.S. DHS
  • Unexpired employment authorization documents (EAD), form I-766
  • Unexpired foreign passport with current valid USCIS documentation.

i found the above infomation on the MVA Maryland website.

Does it means the I-797C wont work for renewal of Drivers licence right?

From the information that you provided from the MD MVA site, the I-797c does NOT appear on that list.
