Hello all,

My fiancee came here on K1 visa and we got married recently. We are ready to send out our AOS forms now.

Can someone clarify these points for us?

1. The category under which she applies is c-9. Is that correct?

2. Do we need to submit an original marriage certificate(s) as proof for I-485 I765 and I131?

3. What do we need as proof of having our life together? It is too early to say we have common finances and building a life together etc?

4. What sort of proof do we need to submit with I-864? I have put together a letter from my employer, my last 3 years tax info so far.

5. My fiancee flew here through Abu Dhabi and she did her preclearance over at that airport. Her first airport on US soil was JFK. Which airport is her POE?

Thanks!!

S

Hello!

1) Yes

2) Don't submit the original, but try to send certified copies. Alternatively, you can send photocopies, and hope they accept them or send certified copies from your county or city.

3) Proof isn't required at this point. In our case, it's hard to come up with. We married before we got a SSN and we were unable to get an SSN, so I can't add him to my lease or anything else. I am sending documentation that he's on my health insurance, and since the cost increased substantially, I'm hoping that will be enough.

4) I am going to send that and my Form W-2 as well. I'm sending paystubs from the last two months and an income reconciliation as I have a new part time tutoring job. I want to put my current income, substantiate that, and substantiate the last year's income (which is enough too).

5) POE is JFK.

Hello all,

My fiancee came here on K1 visa and we got married recently. We are ready to send out our AOS forms now.

Can someone clarify these points for us?

1. The category under which she applies is c-9. Is that correct? Correct.

2. Do we need to submit an original marriage certificate(s) as proof for I-485 I765 and I131? Just a copy.

3. What do we need as proof of having our life together? It is too early to say we have common finances and building a life together etc? The only proof you need is a copy of your marriage certificate. Bring those others things to your interview, if you have one.

4. What sort of proof do we need to submit with I-864? I have put together a letter from my employer, my last 3 years tax info so far. That should be enough.

5. My fiancee flew here through Abu Dhabi and she did her preclearance over at that airport. Her first airport on US soil was JFK. Which airport is her POE? Abu Dhabi was the POE. She cleared immigration there and handed in the sealed envelope at that time.

Thanks!!

S

5) POE is JFK.

This is incorrect.
