N-400 through Marriage of a Parent with U.S. Citizen

Hello All,

It's been awhile since I've posted here so I hope I found the right forum to post question.
I can't seem to find a thread asking a similar question as me, so please feel free to redirect me to that thread if there's one.

Otherwise, here's my question...

My father married a U.S. Citizen in 2011, approved conditional permanent residence in Jan, 2012 and we were approved I-751 in May, 2014.

I was under 18 years old in 2012 so everything carried along with my father's status including the I-751.

I'm now 21 years old and wondering how I should submit the N-400 in this case since we reached 3 years now.

My question are:

- Is it possible for just me to apply for N400?

- Do I still have to put myself as a child of my father?

Thank you in advance!

hi

your father can but you can't,

the 3 year rule only applies to spouses of USC

stepchildren as well as children are under the 5 year rule, you are an adult so 90 days prior to you being a GC holder for 5 years you can apply for citizenship on your own

it has nothing to do with your father anymore
