AOS name change

We just got married about to fill out our forms for adjustment of status. I (the one that came on the fiancé visa) took his name and signed our marriage certificate with my new married name. Do I use this new name on the forms? Do I have to change other government documents first?

You should use your new married name. You don't have to change any other documents first. The marriage certificate is all you need to show your name change.

For filing of the AOS, yes you use your married name.

And no, you don't have to change the government docs immediately but I suggest you do it (except your foreign passport - once you have a green card, you can travel with your passport even if it has your maiden name but you always have to have your marriage license with you). First stop is (and if you have those), change your State ID and social security number. If you don't have it, just wait for your EAD to arrive to get your social, then state ID, credit cards etc. Other than that, if you are planning on having a joint bank account, any joint assets (insurance, car etc) it is best that is in your new name :-)

I pretty much changed everything once I got married, from state ID to credit cards and insurance on my car.
