My fiancées interview is complete and passport was left at embassy and was told to pick it up in one week. The embassy is procrastinating the visa process again. Is this normal? Does the visa actually get put into the passport on location or is it sent out? How long does it take to put a visa in a passport? Should I write to the embassy and question or ask?

Thank you.

What's normal: The visa printing and insertion into the passport in about a week or the Embassy procrastinating? How do you know that is what they are doing?

Does the visa actually get put into the passport on location

Yes

How long does it take to put a visa in a passport?

About 20 seconds.

Should I write to the embassy and question or ask?

Why harrass them?

You're timeline says it will be ready in two days.

After an interview there is still processing that occurs. You were told it would take a week. That seems pretty clear.

Just not sure what normal is. Never did this before. It's a long 20 secs.(14 days)

I don't ever believe in harassing. That's not my point at all.... Just basic questions. This web site has a lot of information, but not everything is on here. It's just one good resource out of several.

My timeline has info that I plugged in, may not be actually what is transpiring. I make changes as they occur.

Thanks for the responses.

Our case was lost for 10 weeks at the embassy, yes 10. The time line will not allow me to insert actual dates because the time frame is to long...

After the NVC and lawyer contacted them, the paper work file appeared... Pretty amazing!

I've been reading here a lot and seems like it usually takes one week (what you've been told). But there are embassies that do it in just two days (one is Kazakhstan)

Yes that seems to be about the normal time. Good to hear that. Thanks.

Yep. We've seen a case that took one year to get the visa issued after the interview. That was a very strange case but it had a happy ending.

Every case is different. Everyone has a different process. The Happy Ending is most important.
