hi, im new here and im desperate for your help. im so confused on how or what to answer on my Ds260 and Affidavit of support. here's the thing.

my mom petitioned me under F2B category last February 2005. it was approved last 2009..back then, i still don't have children. now, NVC is processing my visa. i was just wondering if i get to bring my children along with me. There ages are 7 and 1. they were not included in my petition.

in my Ds260 they asked me if i have children and i said yes. 2.

will they be immigrating with me in the US? or at a later date? i said yes! (got confused here in what to answer but i said yes anyway)

in the affidavit of support they asked in part3. information about the immgrants you are sponsoring.

1. yes or no (applicable only if you are sponsoring family members in Part3. as the second joint sponsor)

2. i am sponsoring the following members immigrating at the same time or within six months of the principal immigrating named in part2. (Me). do not include any relative listed on a separate visa petition

should i write the names of my children here??

if i dont will i have difficulty in petitioning them afterwards?

if i do write them down will this change or shove me of to a different category and have to wait again to be called at the said category?

so confused right now.. i wanted to pass these papers in NVC already but just worried that i might make the wrong move.

pls help. thank you.

Oh boy. We need to straight out your misconceptions.

Since you never informed the NVC that you had children, your case is proceeding as if you were childless.

The children can immigrate with you. You need to inform the NVC that you have children that needs to be added to your case. Each child will need his/her own DS-260. You will need to pay the DS-260 fee for each of them. The children are not included in your DS-260. Listing them on your DS-260 is for biographical purposes only.

F2B category is for unmarried adult children of permanent residents. How can OP immigrate his children with him when he is not supposed to be married?

ditto

there is no need to be married to have children

you need to be unmarried, even divorced people can be under the F2B and have children, or never have been married, as long as their children are under 21, they are their derivatives
