Questions regarding getting passport in Mexico

Good evening all,

I am at my wits end right now. My fiancé and I are in the process of the K1 visa. We received the notice to make or appointment for our interview in Ciudad Juarez. My fiancé went to get his Mexican passport and was told that he would need a new birth certificate. He goes to the Registro Civil to get his birth certificate and was told that his original birth certificate that was in the books appeared to have been altered. They sent him to his mother's place of birth to get a copy of her birth certificate proving that her name was correct. He went back with this information and they are still telling him that he will need to gather numerous documents and then appear in front of a judge to have this situation corrected. he problem is we do not have that much time. I need to know if anyone else has encountered these types of problems. Please let me know what your thoughts are and any information would be greatly appreciated.

I'm really sorry to hear all the trouble you guys have endured to get the birth certificate, it was a pain to get my husband's BD from Oaxaca. Others might have better advice, but if that's the only way to get the BC then unfortunately it sounds like you have to do it. Best of luck to you both.
