hello fellow VJers,

We are getting our files ready for AOS.

My fiancee came here on K1 visa and I read here that it is necessary to get a vaccine transcription done for K1 visa holders, but not necessarily complete a full immigration physical check up....

Does anyone know any civil surgeon near Edison area who will do a vaccine transcription and not insist on a full physical check up?

Thanks,

S

First make sure you need a civil surgeon > http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/551080-immunizations-ds-3025-or-i-693/

You can try this thread to find a civil surgeon that will do only vaccinations for a K-1 > http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/231026-civil-surgeons-who-dont-rip-you-off/page-15

Hi,

Your finace must have already received all required vaccinations while filing for K-1 visa. Take this vaccine report to any of the USCIS approved panel of physicians in the U.S and ask them which additional ones are required. 99% chances are that they will say none.

Although the USCIS website says that physical examnination is not required, blood draw (for TB) is something that the doctors will insist on. Go for it. No other tests/ examinations are required.

We recently filed for my AOS and I consulted 3 USCIS approved doctors in different cities before finally settling for one. All of them insisted on a complete physical examination and denied stamping 'only' the vaccine page. They had no idea about the USCIS rule that does not require a K-1 applicant to go through the examination again.

Finally, we had to settle in with the TB Blood draw (results hardly take time) and ended up with no vaccines (since I had already taken them in India during K-! application process).

If you had all the required vaccinations marked off on a DS-3025 at the K-1 medical, then you had no need to see a civil surgeon in the US. You did not have to repeat the medical or any parts of a medical, such as TB testing. See the post I linked to above.
