Hi all

I had my interview two weeks ago and was approved. However, my online status is not yet updated.

Beginning to get a bit anxious about what happened at my interview. My 2x2" passport photos were looked at but they didn't keep either of them, they didn't take my affidavit of support, they requested my birth certificate and returned that (I guess they took a photocopy). Is this all normal? Wouldn't they need a photo for the visa? I'm now wondering if this could be delaying my status update.

I contacted embassy twice and have been told both times to wait longer. Which I will do, but in others opinion/experience, did I leave interview with too many docs still in my possession?

Thank you

It is not your docs or photos. They scan/copy all those now. Two weeks is longer than average for the status to still say "Ready". Are you born and raised British, or are your roots from another country?

Born and raised British and in England until I moved to the States in 2011 for work. I have held two L1 visas in the past but neither were revoked. I have not been denied a visa in the past but I did have a passport stolen a couple of years ago that had an L1. The L1 was reported as stolen and replaced. Perhaps this has flagged me in the system?

Thanks for putting my mind at ease re: docs/photos.

Last night when I was listening to President Obama's address to the nation, I was wondering if tighter security measures were going to be in place concerning the issuance of visas. He made mention of needing more careful screening of VWP and looking into those who had ever travelled to Iraq and Syria. Wondering if any of that has slowed the system down a bit. Also, it could just be the extra holidays and people wanting other various travel visas before Christmas.

Out of interest, how did you contact the embassy?

I'm in the same boat, waiting to receive my passport back after I had to send them my original birth certificate. ceac been updated but still in AP. Any way of getting in contact with the embassy would be appreciated.

I've contacted them twice via the contact form online, will post the link when I get home. And also called NVC in the states today and will also post that number in a little bit. Took FOREVER for someone to answer but when they did it was the sweetest woman who told me there was no issue but just wait.

Wait wait wait! ?

Thanks

As soon as I replied to you earlier, I remembered that I'd used that form to chase up where my courier-in receipt was to be able to send my birth certificate. Replied to it now, hopefully I hear something soon as my flight is booked for next Friday!

My status has finally updated to include the following wording, but the overall status remains as READY:

Your case is open and ready for your interview, fingerprints, and required documents. If you have already had your interview, please check your status after two business days. If no interview was required, please check back in two business days for the status of your application.

This is movement, hurrah! Although I don't think its promising enough to confirm I'll be flying on Friday.
