Hi! I am a k1 applicant, our petition is already approved last Nov 9 and we still don't have the NVC letter. I have the case number now, should I proceed with the medical and interview as soon as I can? Thank you. :)

Hi, when I had my medical - I did not get the NVC letter but I did have the embassy letter with the case number. I just asked my fiance to scan and email the NVC letter he received just in case. During the medical, they asked me for the embassy letter, my appointment letter and an online form I submitted to be in SLEC's database. The embassy usually suggests to have your medical 1-2 weeks before the interview, I did my medical 2 days before my interview.

Most of the people here would say you can go ahead and do the medical + schedule the interview, but I would suggest that you wait for the embassy letter. If you already have it, then you can proceed :)

Hi thanks everyone for the responses :) I did my medical today!! I got the results too :) it was a long day but it was worth it! Next Monday would be my interview :) I wish the embassy letter would be here before the interview but even without it, I'd still go. I really wish everything will run smoothly. :) as early as now, I'm already terrified about the interview! Lol

Letter from the embassy is of no value, don't need it for the interview.

Relax. If you have a genuine, ongoing relationship with your fiance, and know what he does for a living, where he lives, you know - basic stuff a person would know about someone they are marrying, the interview will be short and sweet. Done in 3-5 minutes, walk out of the embassy smiling. Then a couple week wait for the visa to arrive.

Okay Hank! Thank you. Forget the letters then! Haha :)

Mmkay, I think I know everything then, that's why I don't really check for the questions they could ask me, not so worried about it but just talking to the consul itself is scaring me. Haha thank you for the encouragement! Much appreciated :) it'll be over soon!!

Hello!! It's my visa interview tomorrow and I am lacking one document, the form 1040. Is it badly needed on the interview? Thank you for your responses.

Why didn't your fiance email a copy of his 1040 to you? The most recent tax return and W-2 are listed in the embassy instructions letter as required.

Sometimes the CO does not ask for the 10490 lately, it is a gamble, not sure I would want to take that gamble.

Have your fiance email a copy to you ASAP... along with a copy of his W-2

Hi Hank! :) they granted me a visa, they didn't even ask to see my financial supporting documents. It was an easy interview, that's for sure :) thank you for all your help! :) see you in America in 2 weeks! Hehe
