How to obtain my case standing at the Consulate?

Help please!

I've been wondering how people were able to know their case standing at the Consulate. I mean, does the Embassy tell us on when the packet has been delivered?

Mine is in Bern, Switzerland. My husband has tried to call there two times (each costs him Euro 15!) to find out if they have sent the packet to my address, but then all they said was very simple....just wait and see.

Does anyone know a better way to obtain such information? Thanks so much.

Sending email is also an option. You can email them to ask the status, they will explain if any packet sent or still waiting for something else.

First, do you know if NVC received it, assigned a case number and forwarded it to the consulate? If not, start with contacting NVC.

I have heard Consulates/Embassies respond to snail mail as well.

Some Consulates are good at email, some not. Definately try it. I thought India wouldn't even answer, but every time I write (3 times so far!) they answer within 3-4 hours!
