Mistake on translated document

Hi all,

NVC has requested the translated Marriage Termination document for my spouse (the beneficiary) 2 times, I have sent it originally with AOS/IV package, and NVC kept saying, this document is missing, and I sent it already twice. I've been waiting for long time now and my case currently on a supervisor review.

Yesterday I called NVC and the Rep. said, there is a mistake on the translation of the Marriage Termination document, he wont tell me what is it, but then I discovered the error which is the name of the Ex. spouse was switched by a different name. A mistake that made by the translator, and I'm beating myself up that I did not take a very closer look at it from the very beginning :(

I don't what to do, should I go back to the same translator (If he still exist after a year and 3 months) have him correct the error, and ask him to make an acknowledgment or statement that he made a mistake on the old wrong translated document to send along with the correct one to NVC?

Or find a different accredited translator have him re-do the Marriage Termination document properly?

My concern, I don't know if NVC will get confused if I send a new translation of the Marriage Termination with new translator name on it since they have the old wrong ones? or should I fix the wrong one that NVC already has 3 times, by going back to the same translator? I don't know if translation does matter to have the same translator with the same document format NVC has or it does not?

If anyone has been through this particular situation or have any information to share with me, please I need help really bad. Thank you.

Can anyone help?

Simply, is it really matter to the NVC to use a different translator to fix new translation of the document, or should I go back to the same translator (If I could find him) have him fix the error he made, so NVC will not get confused or conflicted with the paper they already have?

I appreciate any help

Get the translation fix. It doesn't matter who does it as long as the person is competent in both languages, and can provide the necessary certification.

Thank you aaron2020 - I went back to the same translator and she re-done it completely and correctly, I have not sent the document to NVC yet. I checked CEAC website today and there I found 3 N/A - called NVC tonight and hoooooray CASE COMPLETE! I'm soooo happy and excited!!! :)

I honestly don't know how this happened, still trying to believe especially when NVC said: there is a missing document (Marriage Termination) and I confirmed too, there something wrong with the document I sent to NVC before - but I'm sooooo happy regardless!!!

Do you think they want to put my case at Embassy or Consulate level and they will request the correct document? that's the only thing I'm thinking of, but again I'm sooo freakin HAPPY!!! Done with NVC lool

Thanks for all the HELP I got from all VJ members, truely appreciate it!!!! :)
