Hello all!

My wife has her interview on Tuesday in Manila, I am just wondering, does she need to register her delivery address for her passport and visa to be mailed to her BEFORE going to the interview or is it ok to do it at the embassy?

Also, what is the difference between MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE and the CEMAR? This is my wife's and also my first married, so I am a little confused. Is it required for the interview????? Please help...

Address registration is best done at the embassy website before the interview. Shortens the time in the embassy. If you don't do it before there is a separate window that verifies the address or collects it.

The embassy will want to see the NSO version of the marriage certificate that shows you are married AND the NSO CENOMAR in your wife's maiden name that shows she was legally able to marry OR a parents statement if she is under 25 granting permission to marry.

The requirement is listed on the embassy letter but it doesn't spell out the specific documents required. My wife got a 221g(?) because she didn't have the CENOMAR which delayed getting the visa by about a week.

How does the parent's statement work? Because my wife is 23 and I'm 21.

The CENOMAR/CEMAR is issued by PSA, the marriage certificate is form the local register if I am not mistaken

Follow the embassy instructions letter as to what is required.

The LCR initially issues the marriage certificate which eventually gets filed with the NSO/PSA (it will always be NSO with me regardless of official name change). The NSO version on yellow safety paper is the official document that the US Government wants to see as the typewritten LCR version is too capable of being altered. Bring at least 3 or more to the US for future use.

From my wife:

Parental consent (both parents accompanying their child) occurs at the LCR prior to issuing a marriage license to a child under 25. The embassy will want to see a CENOMAR issued by the NSO//PSA. There is no specific parental consent template or form as a document.
