COS to F1

I applied for COS to F1 in September and as per USCIS, visa processing would take another 3-4 months.

However, my classes start in January.

1) Can I attend classes till my F1 is not approved?

2) If I don't attend classes till my F1 is approved, can my school cancel my I20?

3) Can a future employer file for my H1 B if my F1 is still pending?

Depends, from which status you are in currently while COS is pending. Some status will allow you to enroll while others don't with pending COS.

2) If I don't attend classes till my F1 is approved, can my school cancel my I20?

Yes they can, you should contact your school and ask if they can grant deferred admission for you.

3) Can a future employer file for my H1 B if my F1 is still pending?

They can, however even if you are selected in the H1B lottery, USCIS might or might not allow COS to H1b depending on your current status. Even if they allow COS to H1B, you can start working from October only, so you have to be in legal status till that time.
