Hello everyone, I would like to know if any of you experienced the K1 process soon after a F1 denial (for lack of ties with your country) when you stated that you and your boyfriend (by then NOT YET fiancè and not planning to be in any way illegal) were just friends.

This is my situation now, and even though we have PLENTY of proves that we have a genuine relationship, I would like to know similar experiences, so I am just wondering if any of you went through the K1 interview with a story like this, and what were you asked and what did you answer!

Thanks a lot :)

Ok well not an ideal situation to be in especially if you are asked about the 'friends' issue. But all you can do is tell the truth.

Good luck

I've seen the topic before. Maybe if you put this title in the search tool you can find past threads.

How long has it been since the F1 denial? I believe you can overcome it on a K1 if you show progression of your relationship into engagement.

The F1 denial was on July 1st, our application for the K1 was sent on september 8th and our interview is in January 12th!

I think it's fine this way, because we got engaged in August, when my boyfriend came to visit me for a month, after and because the F1 visa denial. Since we didn't hane an other way to be together and I couldn't have gone there to be with him any other way, he asked me to marry him.

Oh yes ok. Sorry I missed the part of you asking for others already denied K1.

Yes it sounds like you will be fine. Take good relationship proof. I read a lot of posts. I haven't seen anyone getting refused for that reason.
