Hi, I just got my visa and was so happy and excited only to see there was a typo error. They put ECxxxxxx instead of EBxxxxxx. has anyone experienced something similar before? Please let me know what is to be done to fix this asap. Thank you so much

Hank and Greenbaum do you happen to have the contact information of the USEM? I was looking but can't find the email address I can use. And also how long does fixing typos take? Thanks so much

Well, that depends. If you are leaving in a few days you can go to the Embassy and they will fix it while you wait. Maybe 2-3 hours.

If your not leaving right away, then you send it to them via 2go and they fix it and send it back to you. Takes about 1-2 weeks.

Call don't email to see what THEY want to do. Don't you send it until instructed by the Embassy.

in the U.S should call(703) 520-2235, on its Eastern Standard Time equivalent of operation hours. Remember time different of 13 hours (east coast) and no weekends or holidays.

Luckyg- we contacted them and they asked if I have a flight itinerary so I can just walk in at the embassy and have it corrected. Went there on Dec.8, they kept my passport because a new visa has to be printed and have not heard anything from them yet. You better call them to know what to do.

To all: After I went to the embassy to have my passport number corrected I keep checking it on CEAC and it says Ready and today it got updated to Administrative Processing. What I want to know is that is this normal? They should just be correcting the typo I don't understand why does it have to be on AP again. I am to fly to the US on wednesday. Am I still good? And will I make it to the US on the 16th? Thank you all

Dierrja - Thank you for the info. Did they get also the visa packet or the passport only? Did they told you how long wil it take correct the error and print the new visa? I will call them today.

Hanks - Thank you also for the info.

Yes they kept the visa packet and the passport. Status on CEAC changed to Issued just now Uhm they did not exactly tell me how long is it gonna take for them to correct it but I reiterated that I have flight booked next week so they atleast told me that hopefully they can release it before the week ends. Never ending journey is it? Just when you know you can normally breath again comes another thing you have to fix. But we are keeping our hopes high. Good luck! :)

Your going to be fine. Going into AP means that somebody is touching your records. It's a matter of hours now and you will hear something. Almost there!
