I can't get 2015 data, but for 2014 I've found two mass killings thus far.

Geoff Hunt and the Cairns attack.

I count 52 in the US with 3 dead or more.

Adjusting for population -

2/23 = .08 for Australia

52/318 = .16 for the US.

So Australia has rough 1/2 the mass killings. Still a big difference, but the media doesn't really tell the truth when they say no mass killing in Australia. What people don't realize is they raise the bar above US classifications by a few people killed per incident.

Switzerland has a gun ownership rate comparable to the USA, but has Homicide rates that are some of the lowest in the world. . Oddly Brazil, the highest on the chart, it is illegal in most cases to carry a firearm outside the residence.

Maybe our high homicide rate has other factors.

maybe if we could figure out why certain minorities in this country, have such a widely disproportionate rate rate of people committing homicide , we could start to fix it .

There minimum wage is 17 Australian dollars right? Thats roughly 12.45 I think in US dollars. There are many cities in the US approaching that. (lets keep in mind that Australia has 23 million...California has more ppl alone.)

Regarding guns, there is roughly 3 million guns in Australia. Their 96 gunback took in about 600,000 but I think they have already surpassed the 1996 amount with new purchases. Also keep in mind that a majority never turned their guns in. I would expect the US would actually have a higher rate of people ignoring the law.

For instance LA banned all magazines over 10 rounds about a month ago even if they were grandfathered. Residents were required to turn them in by last week. Can you guess how many were turned in? Zero.

Because you are somehow trying to correlate suicide rates in the U.S. to the amount of guns in the U.S. If you look at South Korea's suicide rate which is much higher than ours, and guns are restricted there, why are there so many suicides there? Here's a hint for you; guns don't make people commit suicide. The people in this country who want to commit suicide would find other means even if you were somehow able to wave a magic wand and make every gun in this country disappear.

Its not that hard to figure out why Norway may be at the top of the list. Due to a small population (5 Million) one attack looks statistically stronger than a large quantity of smaller attacks in the US with a population of 318 million. That attack being Breivik attack.

I have used the same argument about mass shootings . If they cannot get a gun they will use say ... A Bomb . ...

Like the fellows in Boston, ,Columbine ,Oklahoma city bombing and just last week in our Isis attack. ... Many liberals don't agree on here. . Because fertilizer and diesel fuel fireworks, and gasoline are just too difficult to buy..
