Hello,

So to briefly explain the story, my husband and I started dating back in the beginning of 2013 in Korea while he was stationed at camp Casey.

After his tour in korea ended, I ended up getting a F-1 visa, moved to Virginia and lived together until October 2014 when we got married.

Since I have a valid visa and he was deployed again after that, we have been putting off filing for green card until our first anniversary, ha, which was two months ago.

What I'm worried about is that, he has ETS'd from the military after we sent out the package to Chicago.. and he has yet to find a job.

Currently my status says the case is ready to be scheduled for an interview.

The options we are thinking are

#1, he moves back home which guarantees he will be employed and is a decent job, but I will HAVE TO stay in virginia because of my school, which will cause us to separate physically and inevitably make us have two different addresses, etc.

#2, he tries to look for whatever job(s) he can to meet the requirement to financially sponsor me... but ya know, I want him to have a good job that he enjoys doing, not some minimum wage job that he hates working for just for the sake of my green card...

#3, the worst case scenario if he does not have a job until the interview date, ask for his parents to sponsor me.. which I honestly don't want to.

Would any of those options work?

2nd question is, he got a DWI charge right before he got out of the army which has put us in significant amount of debt and he might possibly face jail time up to a month

(I know, serious of bad luck recently, which is why I am so stressed out)

so, IF my interview gets scheduled and he is in jail, can I still just go to the interview by myself or are we screwed?

lastly, I got the vaccination stuff done back in June and filed for green card in October. I got a letter from USCIS pretty much saying the version I sent was no longer in use and that I need to bring the current version at the time of interview. Does that mean I have to go ahead and get a whole new set of shots done?

I think that's about it. Thanks for reading and any help would be appreciated. I am just torn with the whole money thing, not being able to work because of my status, etc.

I think the best option is going to be to get a joint sponsor, a minimum wage job is not going to cut for a household of two.

You can go to the interview by your self, however, that might not be a good thing since he is required to attend.

If USCIS rejected the medical exam you sent than you have to get a new once using the most current form.

You should use a joint sponsor.

You can ask that the interview be rescheduled, if you absolutely need to.

You will need to get a new medical and the civil surgeon will need to use the current edition of the I-693. Take a copy of your old one to show the vaccinations you already received so they can just transcribe those onto the new one.
