Hello my fellow VJ peeps,

My fiancee is finally here in the US on the K1 visa. We will be getting married in January 2016 and then filling for AOS. if anyone can help us out with a checklist for putting together the package, that would be great! i have seen an couple of checklists already and the only thing that worries me is the Financial require documents that i need to send in. I've seen that i would have to send a copy of "my" passport (Bio page) but i don't have a passport. Is this a requirement?? Can someone please let me know!!

Thanks,

Gina :content:

To begin with, I'd like to congratulate both of you.

I assume you are the USC and your partner is the beneficiary.

Since the apllication is about your partner, you will only need her passport bio page . (also the visa page)

After entering the USA your partner and you should get married withing 90 days and your fiance (now spouse) should and must file i-485 for adjustment of status.

The most reliable information you might get is on USCIS website. Here is the link for instuctions how to file i-485.

You can see the checklist for supporting documents here.

An important reminder, the petitioner of a i-485 form is the foreign partner (beneficiary). This might be confusing since the petitioner for i-129f was the USC.
