Islamabad. Do I need to send my original birth certificate or a copy and bring original to the interview?

I keep hearing contradicting answers here. I only have one original copy and I may need it in the future for AOS and stuff. What to do?

Of the birth certificate. I mean if I send them the original one, they will just put it in my packet and I will likely never get it back. So my question is if its necessary to send the original one or can we send a scanned copy and bring the original one to the interview

Oh sorry. I just saw the title. For the embassy in Jamaica we don't send anything. The beneficiary takes an original to the interview. They don't get it back it is put in the packet for POE. I always suggest to people to get 2 original copies. One for the interview and one to keep to bring to the USA with you.

Your embassy may differ. I am not sure.

Just bring the original to the interview and if necessary provide a copy in advance

whenever your approve your interview ..they will return you all orignal documents

if you not approve your interview then they will not return to you ,, whenever u will get passport with us visa they will give to you through on us express

Don't send originals. Just bring all originals in interview.

As suggested in the link above, just send photocopies and take originals to the interview.

In K1 visa, the document requirements change every month and also varies from consulate to consulate.

If they have asked you in email to send your original documents to them, then you should send it to them.

and dont worry, they will give all of your original documents back to you at the time of interview.

I have also send all my original docs to Islamabad embassy last month, and they returned all my docs at the time of interview.
