POE, Which Line?

When my fiancee comes to USA, which line does she go through: Line for Visitors or Line for Citizen/Permanent Resident?

Depends on the PoE. Some airports have one line for new immigrants like SFO. Ussually there are immigration officials that you can ask to get into the correct line.

I asked the same question to the Passport Control Officer at LAX and he told me when she gets here to go through the visitors line and you can go with her to that line. They are generally very helpful. Good luck, Ken

You didn't hear everyone say it--and I imagine few would.

Unless directed to the USC line by an immigration official (happens sometimes when travelling with USC) they should use the visitors line.

Good point, but that's a significant "unless". Ask for direction and one will generally be directed to the area having shortest lines so as to balance the workload.

When I entered on K1 I used the visitor line. Later when I traveled with my greencard I used the US citizen line.

Generally (other than at Dublin, Shannon or the 9 Canada->US PFI's), Visitor/:alien: line.

Canada's 9 PFI's have NO specific USC/:alien: designations (for Dublin and Shannon, I assumed similar).

In September 2006 they had a separate USC/LPR line in Dublin. A few weeks ago there was only one line, though. They may adjust to a citizen/visitors proportion on a given flight.

I went in the visitors line, but some people I know have gone in the USC, but usually someone there spots your envelope and tells you where to go...then the roaming immigration officers tend to see you.
