Hello all. I apologize ahead of time as I know this is probably a very common question; however, I've seen a lot of conflicting information.

Can anyone tell me definitively if W-2s must be submitted along with tax returns? My dad is the joint sponsor and we both have copies of our tax returns printed online. I have an employment letter and pay stubs and he has pay stubs and bank deposits. This is what we submitted for the k-1 interview. Do we need anything else like the W-2s?

For a definitive answer, read page 8 of the form I-864 instructions: http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-864instr.pdf

I also had the same question.. I think this answers my question.

You must provide either an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) transcript or a photocopy from your own records of your Federal individual income tax return for the most recent tax year.

If you provide a photocopy of your Federal individual income tax returns, you must include a copy of each and every Form W-2 and Form 1099 that relates to your returns. Do not include copies of these forms if you provide an IRS transcript of your Federal individual income tax returns rather than a photocopy unless you filed a joint income tax return with your spouse and are qualifying using only your income

So since I sent in IRS transcripts I didnt send any W2. I hope I have that right otherwise im expecting an RFE. All I sent was most recent IRS transcript, employment letter and some pay stubs

Tax transcript comes from the IRS. Did you get a transcript from the IRS? > https://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Get-Transcript
