passport photos

I think I asked this before but I can't find it and I can't remember. Snappy Snaps has 2 US passport photos for £14... kind of expensive if you ask me. Is it cheaper to get them done in the US? Was it 6 I need in total (1 for the first application, 2 for medical etc)? I We are applying this month/beginning of next and I'm going to be spending a lot of money out this month for xmas/visa application so the extra money for the passport photos I'd like to do as cheaply as I can but I want them done right too.

Take your own picture and use this website to size it for US passport picture.

1 US for the biometrics on the initial application. Then further down the line 4 for the medical (can be UK or US) & then 1 US for the interview.

Most supermarket photo booths do US size - 4 for £7.

I'm going to Asda on Saturday for mine.

I'm going into tesco tomorrow to get a cake for my grandads birthday so I will have a look and see if I can figure it out. Thanks, I didn't want to do an online thing right now as am flying out in just under 2 weeks now.

For future reference, the U.S. Government has their own DIY photo tool along with the official requirements. We used it for immigration and both our U.S. passports. The photos were better than the ones I had previously done at Walgreens. It sizes your face to fit the template and crops to the 2x2 size. We printed at home on our inkjet printer.

Unfortunately I don't have a printer which is why I wanted to get them done at a photo booth/ store. But thank you, for future reference I will keep that in mind.

Thanks to all for advice, I got them in tesco £7 for 4. They had the option for US visa photos. It's good to know.

For those that printed their own pictures, how did you cut them? I'm worried I won't be able to cut even 2 inches straight. Maybe I'll just go to Tesco because £7 for 4 doesn't sound too bad.

I happen to have a paper cutter, but I also used scissors on some. Use long scissors, not dull short Kindergarten size. Whack! One stroke, not chop, chop chop. We made lots for the various processes along the way.

2 Naturalization

2 his US passport

2 my US passport renewal

All were accepted. And the best part is you can keep taking photos until you like one of them.

They are photo booth photos. They do not cut them for you!
