Hello everybody,

So I had my biometrics appointment 5 days ago. I just check the case status online and it says we are ready to schedule your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, Receipt Number xxxxx, for an interview.

I guess this is good news?

The thing is, when I check the case for I-130, I-131 and I-765, it still says that they received my form and that I will receive receipt notice by mail, which I already did.

I thought I was supposed to receive my EAD and AP before the interview? Do you have any input?

Really?

So I wouldn't receive EAD and AP but directly a Green Card if the interview goes well?

I thought EAD and AP are sent to the applicant first since it takes longer to get the Green Card.... Anyone else experience that?

Hi everyone,

Our aos application was accepted on December 24th and the biometrics fee was cashed in on January 5th. Now waiting for the biometrics appointment. A little anxious because I am moving on the 20th of this month and do not want to miss my appointment because I won't receive the appointment notice on time..

Had my biometrics appointment yesterday and once they scanned my receipt notice and took my fingerprints/photo, they returned my receipt notice with a stamp as my personal receipt. Did anyone else have this happen?

My husband and I just got an RFE for insufficient evidence. Apparently, my visa, passport entry stamps and passport are not sufficient evidence of legal entry. How is this happening? The lawyers we consulted are confused. Is anyone else experiencing the same scenario?

My USC husband feels like they just like to tear families apart.

Are you talking about evidence of legal entry? If this is the case, did you send the I-94 that shows the most recent date of entry?

I figured I can only change my address once I move?

Since you move in 4 days, I think you can already tell them you change address. It is easily done online, check USCIS website.

Based on my experience, you should receive the biometrics appointment approximately at the end of this month.

The issue is that I won't actually be moving into our new place until the 31st because we are making a road trip out of a cross country move.

I've set up a mail-forwarding address with USPS but not sure how long it usually takes them to forward mail?

Does anyone know a timeframe between receiving the appointment notice and the date of the actual appointment?

The arrival stamp is on the "Border Crossing Card and B-1/B-2 Nonimmigrant Visa" that was a family visa that was issues to 4 bearers which includes me and all that information is on the family visa and biographical page. This was back in 1992 and I was a child so they stamped the family visa. The I-94, only one presented and given to my father was lost. Lawyers have said that the entry stamp on the family visa which clearly lists me is proof enough of legal entry with inspection. I even remember how rude the officer was to me and then handed me a piece of candy to appease me.

The RFE is asking to submit "Evidence of your lawful admission or parole into the United States. Such evidence includes, but is not limited to, Form I-94, Arrival/Departure Record, Form I-512 with completed arrival stamp, or a copy of the nonimmigrant visa page of your passport showing admission into the United States."

My husband tried to call the hotline number, but it was too late by the time the mail man gave us our mail. He's going to call on Monday morning to see if anyone can actually provide help.

Did the Missouri office lose the information that we gave to them along with the translated/notarized evidence?

That Friday evening I also received another biometrics appointment for the I-795 this time requesting me to show in 2 weeks.

We are both confused and I'd like to have my EAD so I can help my husband out. He suffered a strike not long ago and we are still trying to pay the medical bills. I hate the stress and pain that this causing him especially with this recent RFE. I'm scared he'll have another stroke. This man is my life, best friend and just want to see him happy. It hurts him to see the frustration and tears on me from all of this.

Hi Bugg,

I don't know how things work when you come to the USA with a family visa. But maybe you can try to get an I-94 online? You will have to enter your passport number. Since you entered with a family visa, I don't know how this will work but it's worth a try.

The link is https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/consent.html

Let us know what USCIS will tell you tomorrow. Good luck
