Hi tucker 8439, yes except something in the next few days. It took 1 week for us to receive their text message.

I now have received 4 NOAs by mail and should receive the appointment for biometrics.

Question: do you know when is the best time to update the passport with new name? Since I guess I will have to bring my passport with me to the biometrics etc.. maybe right now is not the best time to send it for renewal.

Any suggestions?

Happy Holidays everybody!

I think the holidays delay things a bit but that's normal and they shouldn't delay the process too much. Let's see...

I already posted this question but maybe other members go through the same thing now : do you know when is the best time to update the passport with new name? Since I guess I will have to bring my passport with me to the biometrics etc.. maybe right now is not the best time to send it for renewal.

FYI - to all the Dec filers...When we got our NOA I-797C back we noticed a couple of mistakes from USCIS...It states on the form to go over the I-797 and be sure all info is correct - we had two errors - a birthdate and different last name - we had to call to get corrected

So FYI be sure to carefully read over those docs when you get them

Good morning! First time posting, but have been lurking for a while :)

We sent our package on 12/03/15, NOAs on 12/10/15, and biometrics appointment scheduled for 01/04/15.

Waiting game begins! At least Netflix keeps me occupied. And we got a puppy who keeps me busy and gets me out of the house. She is the cutest little thing ever! How is everyone else killing time before they get their EAD?

I thought I'd be more bored but I keep myself busy by going to the gym a lot, taking yoga classes which I haven't done in years, getting to know my new city, volunteering and I will now start to update my resume. I think there are always things to do and this waiting time should be beneficial, also to do things we "never had time" to do before!

My biometrics appointment is on 01/07 but again, my passport has my maiden name on it so is it ok to just bring it like this, along with the marriage certificate?

C&I it's perfectly okay to bring your passport with your maiden name. Just bring in your receipt appointment notice, passport, and marriage license. I will be doing the same thing as you next week. Good luck and many blessings to us all in this journey.

Thanks Bugg! I was also thinking of taking the marriage certificate with me to make sure I have everything.

Let's see what happens after the biometrics. Keep in touch everyone!

We checked the case status and got RFE mailed on 12/31/15 :(

It's probably for tax returns for all years as I only sent the most recent. Is it OK if I send them just the transcripts if the RFE wants full tax returns?

Thanks!

I thought tax documents to be sent were just the ones for the most recent year.

You should send what USCIS requests in the RFE. If they ask tax transcripts you can order them to IRS. Let us know what your RFE is.
