Our case was approved and my wife was issued a I-551 stamp in her passport due to upcoming travel plans outside the country. Wahoo! Thanks VJ, couldn't have done it as smoothly without you!

Congrats

Usedforspam22, seriously?? I never read people having their interview cancelled, unless it was for unforeseen reason, like a storm. However, I know that people have been granted their GC without having an interview.

Did you try to call USCIS to know why they cancelled it?

Dont know how accurate this info is. while searching another immigration related forum ran across a post from someone in Houston. They are stating thier priorty date is 12/14/15 and they just notified today (12/22) thier interview is schedueled for Jan 5, 17. Also dont know from what status they are adjusting from either.

Reason I'm asking is based on all the other posts I've read from other members here, they have received those notices a month in advance. So I'm doubtful USCIS would give just a two week notice for an interview. OR maybe the poster got the date wrong.

Thoughts from the senior members out there?

Thanks in advance.

PS. just looked at the USCIS website and they are doing an update tonight from 9pm est to who know when.. Knowing how I.T. works the site may not comeback up until early tomorrow morning.

So it will probably have the new fees listed and the most important part, the processing dates updated.

Depending on the country and embassy it might be right. What might've happened is that they are just now finding out about it or they asked for it to be expedite for some reason. This interview and visa thing is very tricky and unpredictable. I've seen one interview review where this guy did his interview before he done his medical and was still APPROVED. So with this process you never know what goings to happen from case too case.

Thanks Ms. F Brown.

Well looks like the USCIS website did get updated as far as the fees part goes. Beyond that no updates on processing dates.

We filed our paperwork a year ago and our PD is 12-23-15. Guess all my wife and I can do is just keep waiting for the Houston office to finally get to us. The most annoying part will be to get another medical for her since the one we submitted a year ago is now expired.

I think the journey is finally over. My husband and I flew back to St. Louis for the interview last week. I spent the week with him. Had the interview and the medical was expired now the IO stated. She was very nice, it was a quick 15-20 min interview. Wanted more pictures of us, photocopied his work ID card, she wanted my 2015 W2, and a few other minor things. She said to get the medical back to her ASAP. Went back to the civil surgeon that same afternoon, and he had to go back this week on Monday and Wednesday to get more shots and pickup the paperwork.

Made an infopass appointment for this morning to drop off the paperwork first thing. As luck would have it the same IO who interviewed us saw him there and asked if he had the medical and she collected it from him.

We checked the status tonight and....

Congrats everyone who got their approvals!

So after hiring a lawyer and her sending a letter to USCIS stating the law and that our marriage is infact legal, we finally received our approval ☺

How long did it take for you guys to receive the actual card after the "the card has been mailed" notice?

I had my interview yesterday in Houston. scheduled time was 12, but were called in 30 mints late. whole interview took 10 minutes. She made us sworn and asked to show my IDs.i was asked for my date of birth and after 5 minutes she asked for new medical.

all the time she was on her computer typing something.

at last she said here is your approval. in few weeks you will get you 10 years green card.

it was worth to wait 13 months. i applied in 20015 Dec and at the time of interview we were 28 days over 2 year of marriage hence i was granted with 10 years GC.

We had our interview Feb 1 for myself and our two kids. Appointments were 7:15 , 8:00 and 8:45. We were all called in about 7:45,our agent was very nice. She asked for all the original docs . We took an oath and she proceeded to ask us a list of questions - same list from the I485 doc. She asked us for our new medicals as ours had expired - so glad we remembered to get them redone. Do NOT think you won't need a new medical if yours expires during the wait process - they have to have it. We were there maybe 25 minutes - because there were three of us. She told us we were approved and to expect our cards in two - three weeks. We had our letters verifying our permanent residency 4 days later and our cards came the next day!!  Very impressed with the whole process - We had no issues at all - just a long wait because we're in Houston.

So happy and relieved !!
