How is everything going for you December filers? Is everybody finished with the GC procedure?

I just came back from Europe, first trip with my Green Card. The immigration at JFK was easy. Overall, it was a good experience!

Hello-

Nothing new here. Dallas is running behind Houston. Our case still says "Ready to be Scheduled for Interview" since February.

What happens if it's not done by the December? We are coming up on a year fast and we don't want my EAD to expire. Thus has been ridiculous.

Nothing new here. Hubby came back from Deployment in June after I which I sent them a letter, requesting to be scheduled for our follow-up interview. So far we haven't heard anything back, so I guess I will be giving then a call soon?

Wow, this is taking longer than I thought. I was thinking all December filers were almost done.

This shows how unpredictable this process is, it can be fast as it can be slow.... You never know! But it will happen.

How long is the EAD valid?

We just got my wife and stepsons notice on the Case Status page that they are scheduled for OCT 19th interviews for the AOS.

This jives pretty close with the published timeline for the Las Vegas office.

Cheers

Well, our status just changed to Interview to be Scheduled. We're excited and nervous. One step closer.

I hope that those of you that are waiting patiently get some good news soon. :)

EAD is valid for a year. Thankfully, our status just changed and we ate waiting for our interview soon. It took 10 months.

Filed 21 Dec 2015; interview scheduled for 18 Oct 2016 in Las Vegas. (Case status updates from USCIS almost non-existent so I would not rely on these to accurately track your case online).

In the meantime, I applied for a drivers licence & passed the road test but my licence is only valid until my EAD/AP expires, which is not very long.

A heads-up for anyone deciding to travel with AP while waiting for your interview: I had to take care of a few things in Australia and spend time with my Dad for 7 weeks this summer. Upon returning through LAX airport, I was told that I had used the wrong immigration line (even though I checked with the person directing the hoards of people arriving at the same time). A supervisor was called and there were some hushed words; I was then told to stand in a specific place and wait for an officer. After a 15 hour flight, I was tired and nervous that I had done something wrong.

The armed officer told me to walk in front of her and not look behind or side-to-side; she said she would give me directions if I had to turn a corner. It was kind of embarrassing having other passengers look at me...the officer was quite rude/abrupt, treating me like a criminal. At one point, I could not hear if she was behind me anymore - we had walked almost to the end of the terminal and I couldn't hear any footsteps. When I asked if she was still there, she did not answer so I turned around (which did not make her happy). Finally, we got to the 'secondary' interview room where I sat for a long time listening to other people explain why they had entered the country without a visa, etc.

Anyway, when I was finally called, the interview guy just handed back my passport and EAD/AP card without any explanation whatsoever. So to clarify, I asked if I had done anything wrong or used the wrong immigration line (as I had been told) and he said 'no'. Until I receive my Green Card, I will always be sent to 'secondary' for additional clearance and not to panic. He said they have to run our names through all the databases when we re-enter the country on AP due to the terrorism threat to ensure we haven't committed any crimes while away. What a relief!

Luckily, my bags were still going around on the baggage carousel and I didn't miss my connecting flight. Can't wait for my interview next week!

We received a notice over 3 weeks ago saying our status has changed and ready for an interview we moved over two months ago because our apartment was flooded by the maintenance crew. As soon as we move we change our address and get a receipt confirmation via mail. Now we get a notice tag our appointment receipt could not be mailed to us and the office returned it. Our interview was scheduled for October 18 and we had already taken off tike from work to be there. No customer service available at USCIS. What do we do now??? I feel sick to my stomach.

I would just turn up for the interview on Oct 18 with whatever documentation (email or text notifications) that show the appointment was scheduled for that day and proceed as planned. Also bring your change of address confirmation. If that's not an option, make an InfoPass appointment to speak with someone at your local office.

We are thinking about just doing that since customer service has been hanging up on us. Three have refused service to my husband even though he's the USC that'd petitioning me and even when we do a conference call they are rude. Gotta love it.

Wow! Just a heads up. My wife has transited SFO twice with her AP Card and never had an issue like what you described at LAX. It has been smooth sailing through there.

We also live in Las Vegas and our interview is one day after yours . Good luck! Please let us know how it went.

Regards,

Bill

Good luck tomorrow! Sorry to hear it's been SO complicated. Since you have their letter with the interview date, you should be fine. That's the document we had to show when we arrived at our USCIS local office.

Let us know how it went!

We completed the interview and got a case must be reviewed notice. Whatever the heck that means. We can honestly say we are fed up. Eight years together, one year of marriage and all we ever get is ####### from everyone else.

Anyone else receive the same thing.

My husband and I filed in Dec 2015. We are still waiting for an interview in St. Louis. We contacted our Congressman and Senator and escalated with USCIS. USCIS actually responded to the Senator's inquiry and they told us that both files are being processed together (I-130 and I-485), but they are awaiting scheduling. The message on USCIS's website hasn't changed since since January 27th. It was now updated on October 13th (previously said as of January 27th) to say the same message but with October 13th as the date. Anyone know what this means? Are they working on the case? What's very strange is the Congressman's office emailed me today to ask if we received the green card in the mail. Not sure what to think now. Anyone???

"As of October 13, 2016, we are ready to schedule your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, Receipt Number MSCXXXXXXX, for an interview. We will schedule your interview and send you a notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address."
