Hello December filers,

I just wanted to inform you that today we received the notice from USCIS for our interview. It scheduled on April 20th. So happy! Now we have to prepare the documents for the interview. I will certainly come back here to ask questions about it :)

I hope you all have some progress in your journey as well.

Have a nice weekend

Congratulations and good luck! I am still waiting on my social. I hope I don't lose any more job leads while I wait for social security to process my information. :/

Please keep us posted so we can help you and vise versa. :)

Hello Filers, We filed my wife and step sons K1 AOS on December 23rd.. In paralell, we also appiied for Advance Parole and an Employment Authorization for both. They did fingerprints in JAN here is Las Vegas. We noticed online that the permts were approved March 12th.

The cards were recieved in the mail yesterday, March 17th... I was surprised that the AP was inluded on the EAD ..

Good Luck

I'm so sorry to hear that. Did they at least explain to you why they're taking so long?

I received my EAD after 84 days, but I can't do much until I get my social which is taking them a long time. Everything has been a long waiting process unfortunately and I am losing job leads as well as losing graduate school opportunities and scholarship deadlines. It's a pain.

So I waited just over 2 weeks before going in to get my SSN and I still wasn't in the database - they sent an inquiry to find out why - apparently it's common for your first or middle name or initial to be mixed up in wrong order etc..... so SSN dept needs to verify from USCIS that I exist !! Have to love bureaucracy oh well not much I can do...they told me it will be mailed to me in about 2 weeks .....anyone else have similar experience?

That's the trouble I'm experiencing. The phone number that my local social security office gave me is of no use. If I contact the main 800 phone number they call back with rudeness. All I want to know is when I will get it so I can work. I've missed out on so many job opportunities and can't start grad school without it. It's frustrating and I've waited two weeks to try to get an answer. Guess we will all have to continue to wait. :(

I have my EAD but I'm waiting on getting my SSN when I went to SSN office they couldn't find me in database - and I had waited over 2 weeks before going ,,,anyway it should come in the next week or so... this is what it says on the letter they gave me

..." IF you are not a US citizen and you are applying for a SSN card for employment purposes and your immigration status allows you to work, you may legally begin employment while you await issuance of a SS card. You cannot work if your immigration status does not authorize you to do so.

SO we can legally start work once we have our EAD ...we don't have to wait for the SSN - still have to apply and can start work before it comes in the mail.... I just wanted to share that ....

We're still waiting on our interview for Houston .......

Hey Tucker8439, I just got the weirdest thing today. 1) Letter from my local social security office saying I don't have a right to a social and that the photocopies of the originals that their officer took are not allowed and to come in for a personal interview. 2) My second letter from social security administration is my actual social security card that states "valid for work only with DHS authorization." Talk about weird huh?

I hole you get your card soon since some companies may ask for it unfortunately so they can file your W2. Just keep calling your office about the status of your sicial. This has been a frustrating roller coaster. If you need to vent you are more than welcome to email me on my personal email.

I'm hoping your card us in the mail without beauracratic drama.:)
