I'm starting to get worried! My AOS case has been received since December 23 2015, I did my biometrics on Jan 27th and on the 30th my I-485 changed to "case ready to be scheduled for an interview." But I still have heard no word on my EAD or AP. I know the usual processing time is 90 days, which for me ends March 22nd but I have been noticing many people have been getting theirs a lot sooner around the 70 day mark! Anyone else send theirs in around the same time as me and have heard anything?

Thanks!

If you haven't already done so - you 're aloud to call and inquire on day 75 about your EAD - says so on their website - I would do that for sure

Good Luck!

I know the waiting period is agony, but it took me 84 days to get mine. Some offices take a little longer, but if your case now states ready to be interviewed, then you'll get your EAD. :)

I am told by my local social security office that it may take 30 days to receive my social security card. How long is it taking for you all?

I was so ready to work, but in my state you have to have your social, DL and two photo ID's in order to get a job. :(

Good morning!

This just means that the Social Security Administration wasn't able to electronically verify your EAD in SAVE (the online system that they can check). It will be sent manually to the DHS. That's the same thing that happened to me, and it's because I didn't wait 10 days from the date it was issued.

Even though it said a month, I got it in about 3 weeks.

Also - you can't legally have both a DL and a state ID. (its either one or the other)

For the second form of photo ID you can simply use the EAD card or your passport.

Hi everyone, I am a January 2016 filer but am writing to seek advice from some of you since you guys are ahead in this game. How long does it take, after EAD approval, to remove the 'valid for work with DHS authorization only' from the Social Security Card? I have SSC because I arrived on a J-1 visa and paid taxes on my research fellowship.

Hello,

If I'm not mistaken, it can be removed after receiving the Green Card. But anyway, what is this sentence really means? That an employer just needs to see the EAD before hiring someone?

You will still have it while you have the EAD, I only got my SS card while on OPT after I received the EAD. I even renewed my SS card when I married a USC and it says the same thing. I assume it will not be removed till you apply for a new card with your green card when you receive it. It has never been an issue having it on there for me, all employers are about is that you have permission to work.

Hi jayess21,

I applied for SSN last week and officer told me that I will need to come one more time after I will receive my green card. They will issue a new card without the note "VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH DHS AUTHORIZATION" (number will be the same)
