You're welcome!

I'm a big fan of bugging these guys, especially when you've got a rough feeling.

Now you at least have the updated list and exactly what to have! No more confusion.

Good luck on your interview!

Its funny because my Fiance and I are both very detailed and the binder we have everything in is labeled and in order with numerous copies of everything. We laugh because I think the person doing the interview will just laugh at how organized it is.... I will print all this stuff off, and add it.

next stop Medical!

If you're doing K1 you don't do the I-864. Montreal has a lot of wrong information on their actual gov website, and VJ hasn't really updated anything related to Montreal.

I'm going to assume that you're planning a head of time.

You JUST recieved your NOA2 today.

Give it about a month to get through the NVC and a few more days to get to Montreal. Once you get your case number from the NVC you can track your case on the CEAC website found here: https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/

Once you see that montreal has recieved the case, wait a few days and then send an inquiry here to find out if they have LOGGED the case. If they have no logged the case, you can not proceed with sending packet 3. Inquiry form here: http://canada.usembassy.gov/contact/public-inquiry-form.html

Once you have CONFIRMED they have logged your case, either via inquiry or waiting for the hard copy of packet 3 in the mail, you can follow the packet 3 instructions and send it to them.

Once you complete packet 3, you will get an email that IS packet 4. The packet 4 email lists everything to bring, everything listed in the packet 3 checklist is also what you want to bring.

Packet 3 pdf file is found here: http://photos.state.gov/libraries/canada/303578/montreal/Packet3-K1-MTL.pdf

The packet 4 email details everything you need, in an updated fashion as it's the email that gives you permission to do everything. It is the last form of contact you will have between you and the consulate, they list everything you need, what you can and can't bring, how to pay the fees, schedule everything, etc.

The email you will recieve is the most accurate form of packet 4. There is nothing more accurate found online, aside from the pdf file below, which since is less frequently updated, can easily become inaccurate.

Here is the packet 4 email in pdf form. http://photos.state.gov/libraries/canada/303578/montreal/Packet4-MTL.pdf

The exact list from my fiances packet 4 email (The email is much much longer, I omitted most of it):

"The day of your interview

Please bring to your interview the original and one photocopy of each of the following documents (as applicable), for each applicant:

¾ The appointment letter showing the date and time of your interview

¾ Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the date you plan to enter the United States

¾ Birth certificate

¾ Adoptions decree (s)

¾ Marriage certificate (s)

¾ Death and/or divorce certificate(s)

¾ Police certificates from each country in which the applicant has resided for one year or longer. The certificate(s) must be issued within one year of the date of the visa appointment. NOTE: An applicant must present a police certificate from his/her country of current residence and country of nationality, if residence in such country exceeds 6 months

¾ Court records

¾ Military records

¾ Evidence of domicile in the United States

¾ Job offer letter (for employment-based visas)

¾ Affidavit of support (I-134) (for fiancé, employment and DV visas)

¾ Evidence of support (I-864, Federal individual income tax return for the most recent tax year)

¾ Medical examination

¾ Two photographs (in color)

¾ For K visa applicants, a letter of intent to marry signed by the petitioner within 30 days of interview date

Please ensure you bring all the requested documents. Missing documents will delay processing of your visa application

If you have questions regarding the documentation needed or are unable to obtain a required document before the date of your interview, please contact us at Montreal-IV-DV@state.gov or http://canada.usvisa-info.com

Address: The U.S. Consulate General is located in downtown Montréal, at 1155 rue St-Alexandre, Montreal, Quebec, H3B 3Z1 (between Boulevard René Lévesque and Rue Ste-Catherine).

Please note that all visitors to the U.S. Consulate General in Montréal are screened by U.S. Consulate security prior to entry. Screening includes inspections via a walk-through metal detector, a hand-held metal detector and an x-ray machine for personal items.

Ash,

Just to clarify one thing.... Your first line says for the K1 the I-864 is not required, but in the yellow area its listed "Evidence of Support (I-864, Federal individual income tax return from the most recent tax year)

So I am just making sure the I-864 truly isn't needed.

Thanks
