Hello,

I'll be booking my interview and medical soon (in Montreal) and I was curious about the medical report.

I'll be driving in for the day from Ottawa for the medical, do I have to make another trip there to pick up my medical report?

Can they mail it to me? (any idea on the additional cost)

Can someone other than me (a friend) pick up my medical report? (maybe I provide a letter, and inform medisys at my medical of this wish?)

Ideally I'd love it if my friend, who lives in Montreal, could pick it up for me since I'll be staying at their place when it comes time for my interview.

Thanks!

ps-anyone what to share what actually happens at the medical? I assume you give blood, maybe chest xrays, and a general physical exam - but what does that entail (eye, nose, mouth) do they look at your downstairs plumbing? Do they have female doctors or just male ones?

As for what happens at the Medical haven't had mine as of yet but this is what they have listed on the Dr's site that I am going to.

Physical Exam: The panel Physician will conduct a physical exam that normally does NOT include pelvic or a rectal exam. Women having their period can be examined. Blood Test: (done on the main floor of our Medical building at Gamma-Dynacare Laboratory) Applicants 15 years and older will have a blood test for VDRL (syphilis). If you have any history of a sexually transmitted disease, please bring a report from a physician or health department outlining the treatment you received. Chest X-Ray: (done on the main floor of our Medical building at X-Ray Associates)

Applicants 15 years and older require a chest x-ray. U.S. Regulations currently effective in Canada state: “Women who are pregnant are required to have a chest x-ray to immigrate.

Pregnant women will need to provide consent for the chest x-ray.” Our radiologist will provide the lead shielding prescribed to protect your abdominal and pelvic regions. We are unable to exempt anyone from these regulations. Anyone with past abnormalities on chest x-ray should bring old films with them to the appointment.

Medical is easy. General physica so listen to your lungs, heart, look in yer ears and eyes, and some general questions. Pants stay on. One blood vial, chest xray. Done like dinner.

If you had any previous conditions or surgeries they want to know. Any history of depression or drug abuse. Bring proof of vaccinations or immunity, and any relevant medical history.

They can courier it but it costs extra obviously. No idea on the cost (call or email the office)
