So I finally have an interview scheduled for the end of January. My process has been about a year and a half.

If and when we get the visa approved at the interview, which I am going to, how long does it take to get the visa in hand after?

I see most people get it about a week later. The reason I am asking is because I am going to the interview and I am staying for about 9 days. Our interview is on 1/28/2016 and I am going to leave 2/5/16 which is a week and a day after interview. I am hoping he can just fly home with me. I know this is a long shot but I am just curious when most people have received their visas in hand after. I have looked at people's timelines but I thought I would just ask in a mass message.

One week to one year. Usually closer to the one week side.

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

Between a week or 2 from what i read here. However, you will not be able to attend the interview with your fiance, they no longer let petitioners in. I went with my fiance this week and I had to stay outside. Good luck :) make sure you get all your documents, specially the updated version of the extrait d'archive

It depends on your case cause I've been waiting for my fiancee passport/visa for almost two months now. My wedding was supposed to be this Sat but I had to postponed it. So dont buy a ticket for him until he gets it cause I lost a ticket already.
