i think she didnt file any tax return, because of she has no income.you said that your income tax return you filed with married filling jointly.this tax return is not your wife's.it's your income based tax return.

i think this is right solution:

primary sponsor-your wife must file i-864 part-6 item number 18a-no,19a.-19c.say 0.and your wife must submit a letter of explanation why she didnt file tax return.

you as a joint sponsor- you also submit as a joint sponsor.you also submit i864 with meet the federal poverty guidelines and same requirement for financial document.

NO. If they filed Married Filing Jointly, then by definition it is both his tax return and his wife's tax return.

But valueless for affidavit of support

I don't understand what you are trying to say. The OP is asking about the question about the "total income" numbers from the tax returns from the last 3 years. If there was a tax return filed for her (either she file it jointly with her husband or she file it separately by herself), then she MUST provide the total income number from that to answer the question. If she filed jointly with her husband and said she didn't file, or put a number that is different from the number on her joint tax return, that would be lying.
