When we started the process first we thought that we need a lawyer, so we asked a lawyer from Green and Spiegel to do the job. They were too slow and not responsible to any of our questions til we finally fed up and removed them from the case and told them we don't need them any more. They said that they already had sent "G-28, Notice of Entry of Appearance as Attorney or Accredited Representative". After that I logged in to my account (CEAC) and completed "CHOICE OF ADDRESS & AGENT (DS-261)". I got an email on Nov. 20 stating that:

November 20, 2015

Dear ARIA *******,

We registered you as the agent for ARIA ******'s immigrant visa case:

following with some instruction.

I got this email yesterday:

December 1, 2015

NVC Case Number: MTL**********

Dear TIMOTHY NED GOLDEN
(The Attorney):

We reviewed the documents you submitted to us. This letter has a list of documents that are missing or

that need additional information. Please review the instructions on the attached pages.

The instructions will ask you to either:

 Send the missing or corrected items to the applicant so he or she can take them to the visa interview.

 Send the missing or corrected items to the National Visa Center (NVC) and include a copy of the

Case Number Barcode Cover Sheet. Clearly write your case number MTL******** on the

upper right-hand corner of every document you send. After you email or mail the requested

information, allow us 30 days to review your response. When we complete our review, we will send

you information about the next processing step.

If you have any questions about this letter, please contact us at

http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/contact/ask-nvc.htmlor call us at (603) 334-0700 between

7:00am and 12 midnight U.S. Eastern Time.

If a period of one year passes without contacting the NVC (by email, telephone, or mail), all

submitted fees and documents will expire. If this happens, you will need to resubmit the fees and

documents to continue the immigration process.

What should I do now?

Please see the attached file from CEAC,

Thank you,

So you've already told the attorney that you will no longer be paying for services? Did you already pay in advance for the attorney to handle the case?

If you don't have an attorney anymore, you will need to answer the checklist and provide the missing documents.

Thanks for fast reply. No I did not pay him anything because we cancelled him before he does anything. He had sent G-28 before or maybe at the same time that we told him we don't need him.

Email does not mention what is missing, it just says how to send it.

Hmm, then why does it say they received the documents? I assumed that it meant that he mailed your AOS and IV package and the email was a checklist explaining what documents were missing.

It may be best to call NVC and find out.

Ooh I see...yea so if you haven't submitted the AOS or IV package yet, I don't know what missing documents the email is referring to.

You could just opt to ignore the e-mail and continue with the process by following the NVC wiki on VJ: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process

Or, you could call NVC to confirm if the e-mail was sent as a mistake or maybe in response to the G-28
