Please help, I entered US on a K1 visa issued in London, UK.

I entered US on 26th September 2015 and filed for AOS in November 2015.

Today i checked my USCIS status and got this message: Request for Initial Evidence was Mailed and my Adjustment has been Stopped until this is resolved. :crying::cry:

My initial I129 was apporved and K1 was issued all gone smoothly, but I don't understand why this request has come at this stage? I am sure I have submitted everything correctly. Please let me know if anyone has had a RF Initial Evidence during AOS.

Please let me know?

Thank you

It's not an issue with your K-1 but with your AOS. You received an RFE regarding your adjustment of status. You will have to read what they want from you and submit it to them. Once they have the requested evidence, your AOS will continue.

LOTS of people have gotten RFEs at the beginning stage. You left something out you aren't aware of. The letter you get will tell you what it is...in vague, cryptic language. :(

During my AOS I received 2 Requests of Evidence although not so quick after sending in my file.

This could be anything, did you do the money orders/checks correctly? Did you and your husband file and sign every document correctly? Did you provide all the required documents? ...

Certain Requests for Evidence stop the work on your case and it'll start back at 0 day. Don't worry too much about it, wait for the letter in the mail that will explain what the missing document or wrong thing is. The sooner you send it back, the sooner they can start working again on your case.

So it's not gonna be easy.

It's going to be really hard;

we're gonna have to work at this everyday,

but I want to do that because I want you.

I want all of you, forever, everyday.

You and me.. everyday.

Thank you all so much for your replies!

I really appreciate your comments, I got my letter from USCIS and we had submitted an 'out of date' Affidavit of Support form - This was all!

So we have just resent the new form, as this was the only item USCIS flagged up as the issue.

I am hoping I will receive my EAD as I want to start work asap ad feeling limited with things I can do at home without work & driving license.

Does anyone know, how soon I may get my EAD, after a RFE - I resent the correct Aff Support form yesterday! Also when can i do my driving test in VA? I have a UK driving license.

I welcome your comments and thank you all so much for your help!

It can take anything up to 90days (if it takes longer you can request an inquiry or contact your local senator)

If you already have a SSN you should be able to get your driver license before your I-94 expires.

You might need some of your husband's documents for the proof of residency unless you already have enough under your name (bank statement, insurance, utility bill,...)

I don't know how long your UK driving license can be used in VA, maybe someone else can answer that :)

If you can go by the DMV with all your documents and see what they will tell you, it worked out for me while my I-94 was still valid and my Driver License is valid until my passport expires.

Thank you for your reply, I am the husband.. hhh

I don't have a SSN, I've been driving with my UK license, I think for 1 year I am able to drive in DMV. I will double check this too.

Does anyone know if my EAD can be speeded up if I get a job offer from a company?

Sorry >.<

Yes a job offer can speed up your EAD, you will have to call them once you have the job offer letter.

I requested it per phone but did not have a job letter, here is what USCIS sent me:

(...) Upon receipt of your request for expeditious handling, your case was reviewed and a determination was made that we need additional information to make a decision regarding your request. Please fax proof of your financial loss, such as proof of a pending job offer, to the following number: X , Attn: X. Please include this notice with your fax. Documents should be submitted with an official letterhead.
