I cannot recall an incident of 'workplace violence' where more than a single shooter was involved. Anybody? Usually it seems one person with a grudge against the boss, or other employees, blows a gasket and goes postal. Seemed odd to me that two were involved, if that is the label they are pinning on this.

are people saying this was workplace violence?

I'm trying to channel my inner liberal for answers to why this happened. My inner liberal might be wrong. What do you think caused the murders of innocent people in san bernadino yesterday?

maybe you shouldn't try to channel something you don't possess. i think that the two (or three whatever) people who shot up san bernadino caused the murders of innocent people yesterday.

and the driving factor in their decision process was?

c'mon help me out. I need your enlightened opinion.

thought process? doubtful. i'm not a mind reader.

When the dust settles and the facts come out it appears that there are three likely motivating factors which I will list in descending order of likelihood based on the facts and speculation out right now:

1) Radical Islamic Terrorism. Yes I said it.

2) Workplace violence. The shooters directly targeted a Christmas party of the employer of one of the shooting suspects.

3) Random gun violence in which the shooters randomly selected one of the shooting suspects employee party to carry out said random and senseless act of gun violence.

4) Someone at the employee party, or more than one someone, did something yesterday or in the past which led up to the shooters finally taking their revenge for said slight, real or imagined on the part of the shooters.

If motivation #1 is true, 14 more people and two shooting suspects are now deceased. If motivation #2, 3, or 4, 14 more people and two shooting suspects are now deceased.

See how the outcomes are the same?

Sounds like a devout muslim to me. Good for him, stone those who get raped, don't let them get an abortion, eh? "Doing god's work". SMH

http://thinkprogress.org/justice/2015/12/01/3727084/yes-the-planned-parenthood-shooter-was-a-christian-terrorist/

One person who spoke with [Dear] extensively about his religious views said Mr. Dear, who is 57, had praised people who attacked abortion providers, saying they were doing Gods work. In 2009, said the person, who spoke on the condition of anonymity out of concerns for the privacy of the family, Mr. Dear described as heroes members of the Army of God, a loosely organized group of anti-abortion extremists that has claimed responsibility for a number of killings and bombings.

The Times reporter also interviewed a close relative of Dears Colorado girlfriend Stephanie Bragg, who said the couple were very religious, read the Bible often and are always talking about scripture. The two reportedly lived in a trailer marked with a small cross, and that Bragg couldnt believe Dear was capable of such things.

Another report from the Charleston Post and Courier claimed that Dear was obsessed with an interpretation of the Christian apocalypse, and used dark, bizarre theology to justify disturbing acts of domestic violence against his ex wife.

Mr. Dear described as heroes members of the Army of God, a loosely organized group of anti-abortion extremists.

He claims to be a Christian and is extremely evangelistic, but does not follow the Bible in his actions, Mescher, Dears ex-wife, reportedly stated in an affidavit when she filed for divorce. He says that as long as he believes he will be saved, he can do whatever he pleases. He is obsessed with the world coming to an end.

It appears that this was a combination of workplace violence and Islamic terrorism, which to my knowledge would be a first here in the US.

Don't think that said Quran, but reading is fundamental.

Sounds like a religious nutcase to me.

Where did he talk about stoning rape victims? Targeting abortion clinics have been a extremist Christian thing for years.

it's probably more like islamic terrorism, that was just waiting to be pushed over the line. if they hadn't been so well prepared i would be more inclined to consider workplace violence, but that just seems a scapegoat.

Islamic terrorism.

Didn't one of the suspects work in the building where the shooting took place?

Was he a terrorist or just a ticked off worker with a knife? Those knives are dangerous yanno.

Why are Muslims the only people in this country that HAVE to be terrorists? If these two were mentally unstable, does that make a difference? Because Dear was CLEARLY missing a few screws but there's been no demand to call him a Christian terrorist?

My point exactly. Maybe this was a fed up worker who decided to take it too far.

yeah i know the guy worked there, but the level of preparation and that his wife was in on it doesn't sound like a case of going postal because of a disagreement at work twenty minutes prior..seems like that was an excuse to put a prior plan in motion.

and as far as the whole 'terrorist' label..i just don't care about it. it's misused constantly and means nothing at this point. i do understand that muslims can murder without their religion being the motive - same as any other murderer associated with a religious belief (which most are)
