You guys are all getting your GCs? We're still waiting EAD and AP....this is BS. Absolute BS.

It seems that you are the second known person on our thread that is still waiting for a card. Neoblast is the other one and they have put in several service requests, congressional inquiry and ombudsman inquiry. Have you done any of these things?

hey! did you get your card yet?, i just called USCIS few mins ago to get tracking number and they said the card was mailed already but the tracking number has not been entered into the system yet.

Nope, I checked my husband's email, its still on the way in Tennessee, gonna reach chattanooga tomorrow, then to Atlanta. Long road trip for the truck lol.

It says scheduled to arrive on 6 April.

So i've read about what other posters say about I-9, if I'm employed, does my employer needs to file that too?

Are there any Texas filers here who have already got their GCs?

Just wondering if you guys think the field office processing times are realistic, because if so, that puts Houston over a year behind in terms of GC processing. Could be in for a very long wait indeed!

Is it a case of waiting for updates on GC processing or are there methods, similar to filing for a service request, that can be used?

Thanks

PS: If anyone is interested, I re-entered the US after a trip back to the UK using my EAD/AP combo card last week. Took a bit of time in immigration (waiting to be seen), but otherwise no problems although I am definitely getting more and more tired of all the scrutiny.

Just wondering if you guys think the field office processing times are realistic, because if so, that puts Houston over a year behind in terms of GC processing. Could be in for a very long wait indeed!

Is it a case of waiting for updates on GC processing or are there methods, similar to filing for a service request, that can be used?

Yes, we are a Dallas, Texas filer and have the GC. The field office dates are reported 2 months behind and are probably close to realistic. Dallas is showing that as of January 31, 2016, they were working on I-485's from March 13, 2015. That's 10 months and 19 days! Right now, Houston was working on July 2, 2015 I-485 cases, which is only 6 months and 30 days (214 days). If we factor that into your timeline, you have been waiting 3 months and 23 days (114 days). This means that you only have about 200 days or until October 22, 2016 if you need to wait for an interview and the Houston processing time remains constant.

But I remember the days when the TSC was processing K-1 petitions. It would have one date for the service center processing times, and some were approved ahead of that time frame and some were approved after...or way after.

In other words, you may not have an interview at all since you arrived on a K-1. Yay!

FINA-FLIPPIN'-LLY!!! Yes! I'm so happy for you, neo!!! GOSH! They took all that tooth pulling to finally give in, but you came through and won!!!!! Wouldn't it be funny if your GC was approved in another week or two? Lol! Who knows, but now you can start getting all the other madness in order and start your 'real' life in the US! Congrats!!!

Now we just have one more person to get a card, right? Just jdwrentm?

So many others have moved onto jobs, cars, and whatnot! That's great! My husband has been able to schedule three job interviews this week and tomorrow we are attending a career fair at the college I work at. The problem is that I have a CPA test on Friday, so this has really bitten into my study time. I have already passed this test once before, so maybe it won't be so bad - if he gets a job before my last test, that would be stellar!

Congrats again, neoblast! That was an enduring wait!!!!

Yeap there's a USPS alert on my husband's email. Nothing on USCIS case status lol, stating Unavailable. I tracked it, its still in TN, storm's coming up, maybe that's the delay.

I'm not sure if you can or not, I'm still clueless about I-9, need to read up more. Probably seek advice from Amhara :P

And grats on your job interview! I'm still looking for a job, not in a rush because I will be going NY for a trip in May with my hubby and my parents, they're are coming over for the actual asian tea ceremony and bridal photoshoots.

I've submitted a few job applications, hopefully I can get some replies. Its hard without a car :( still trying to figure out how to access to work areas other. I can only find jobs around my home or my husband's work place at the moment.

I wonder if I can get a loan for car purchase once I get a job or a month later after pay check with 0 credit, or to use my husband's name.

Everyone's got a job, this motivates me to look harder! Good luck everyone! And really happy for you guys! I hope I get mine soon!

The I-9 form has 2 sections. You usually complete the first section your 1st day of work, your employer keep it and complete section to 2 and done! Then send to dhs to verify your employability.

LOL! I don't know. But I have read a thread where some large employers will require employees to update the Form I-9 if their original documents are close to the expiration date. I haven't seen any requirement for a former EAD holder to update their employer of the LPR status, but it may be okay letting the boss know as they may want to update administrative records to err on the side of caution. The EAD will expire sooner than the GC, but I think once the employer verifies the I-9, they don't need to verify it again. Of course, smaller employers have more lee-way - they may never need to check the I-9 again even after the documents originally presented are expired; really small ones don't even need to complete the I-9, I don't think (although it's a good business practice that protects the employer).

It seems that you are the second known person on our thread that is still waiting for a card. Neoblast is the other one and they have put in several service requests, congressional inquiry and ombudsman inquiry. Have you done any of these things?

Submitted a few service requests both electronically and by phone. We were told yesterday that we should wait an additional 1.5 months before requesting any more information. They keep trying to sell us on the fact we're still "within normal processing time." Obviously a 1.5 month wait is unacceptable but my wife didn't know to ask for a tier II.

I have submitted an ombudsman inquiry but I'm certain we don't fall in the processing time to get their support. There is a senator that maintains his office in our city's airport, I guess that's our next course of action. Strongly thinking about running for political office someday just to clean house at the USCIS.

Their incompetence is astounding. I even had to argue what my wife's legal name was with the security guard out in front of the office when she got her biometrics done. I'm guessing our delay is because of this. Dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb dumby dumb dumb.

Had to hug a crying wife last night for the millionth time because she's desperate to see her family...it's heartbreaking.
