I'm pretty sure I had a dream about our case status updating and getting EAD..... This is sending me crazy

I know what you mean! I am using the same tricks that kept me preoccupied that I used during our visa. From start to issuance, our K-1 took seven months. We spent three weeks waiting to get to the NVC, six weeks waiting for the USEM interview, 59 days in "AP", and 40 days in "NIV-Ready". (Can you tell how that played on my patience? Lol!)

What we would do is try to think of when the next step would happen. We would pick a date, say two or three weeks from then, and think that maybe we will hear something, maybe we will get an update or maybe we could make some sort of progress! So I know that our 90 days is March 9th, our 75 days is February 23rd and that we have 8 days from the 75 day mark and 23 days from the 90 day mark. I'm counting the days from February 16th since the 15th is a federal holiday and nothing will pick up again until after that point. Meanwhile, our biometrics was done this month, so we will see if that will slow down our process at all.

But as we wait, the VJ estimates suggest that the EAD/AP time frames will touch in December next week! Currently at November 27th, but that was a short week just like this coming week is a short week. I suggest putting the week of February 22nd or 29th in your sights, because that's when real action should happen with us December folk! But if it happens sooner, we will all be pleasantly surprised!

Does the 90 day regulatory processing time start from the filing date or from the NOA1 notice date? I thought it was the latter.

Gosh, maybe you are right. I was using the received date, which matches with the USCIS case status.

*frantic Googling* Hmm, now I'm not sure!

If it's the Received Date on the notice, I could more than live with being wrong - would mean I can file an SR next Monday . ^_^

Timeline

Hey everyone I'm new here first time posting!

Quick background info, my husband and I met when he was stationed in Germany 3 years ago and did the long distance thing between Ireland and Germany, until he went to ft Campbell then whilst he was deployed for a year. I came here to visit in Sept on vwp and was originally meant to leave Dec 3rd, however whilst I was here the company I worked for went bust and I was laid off. We had already talked about getting married later this year and after my unexpected lay off we decided to go for it so we could be together. We sent all the paperwork off in December a month after our wedding (we eloped), noa received 13th dec then biometrics on 8th January, also received an RFIE that day! Asking for a proof of legal entry, so I sent everything I could back to them. They received this on 27th January no update since then.

So now that I've wrote a novel for you all I have a question if anyone can help me out a little. I received a letter that simply stated I would be required to send form I-693 I was waiting to for my interview to submit this. the letter was not asking for me to send it but simply said either bring it to the interview or if I receive an interview waiver (not sure really how those work) that they'll send for it then. But they said Do not send it now. Just wondering if this is normal or is something up? Are they just reminding me that i will need it at some point in case I wasn't aware of it or should I be nervous?

I'm sorry for how long and jumbled this post is, typing on my phone!

Thanks a million!

Since you entered on VWP, I am guessing you didn't need to do a medical exam to enter? It sounds like you didn't submit one with your AOS application, which you should have. Get a medical exam done by a civil surgeon when you get are directed to. Check prices now, though. They can get pricy! K-1 visa holders got their medical exam done overseas with the panel physician.

Yeah see I thought that I was able to wait and bring it with me to interview! No worries that's all good I just wanted to make sure I wasn't misunderstanding, it was just the fact that the letter told me not to send it yet and to wait for my interview. Anyways thank you for such a quick response :D

[snip]

Welcome to VJ. Sounds like you've had quite the rollercoaster ride of late! Since Amhara covered your question while I was half way through my own answer, I'll simply wish you all the best with your adjustment and hope that not too many needles come your way during the medical examination. Yikes!

Oh, and if you could fill in your timeline data, that'd be a huge help to everyone that uses VJ.

Fellow Irish VJ'er here! Just moved to the US from Ireland Sep '15.

I don't have any answers to your Q's but want to wish you luck on your AOS journey. It can certainly be a stressful time!

Hope all works out for you.

Have we posted this here before? (https://www.uscis.gov/forms/tip-sheet-employment-authorization-applications-pending-more-75-days)

This has a lot of info about the RFE, so I'm not sure. However, this is a great resource for when we approach the 75 day waiting mark!!

I think we've talked about and quoted the contents. Nice to see it spelled out from the horse's mouth though.

Day 69 is going pretty slowly here. Highlight of the day has, thus far, been vacuuming. Life takes us to strange places. :clock:

Lol! Don't worry, bariki! I tell my husband all the time to enjoy these days because soon he will need the alarm clock! I have mixed emotions about requesting the EAD. On one hand we can move forward with this immigration process, but on the other, my hubby is gonna be looking for jobs, job interviews, choosing work schedules. I hope he doesn't get a bad work schedule somewhere. :( Then what about weekends? *sigh* It's bittersweet, I suppose... But soon we will all be busy with more case status checking, asking about if the EAD/AP card will be combo, what does this letter mean, what does that status mean, more visits to governmental offices and the like. I tell my husband that he will miss these days that we have now. Hopefully not too much, but this is a good time we are having!

So this means that EAD/AP petitions re-start the 90 day window if the RFIE was for the AOS only?
