Yes. Your timeline looks similar to mine and you are in CA, you might see Ready for Interview soon too

My local office is about 7 months' behind in processing AOS cases at the moment. I'm hoping for NPIW or just going straight through to 'Approved' like some in the Nov/Oct filers. Though, sure, I'd take an interview next month for sure. ^)^

And now comes the classic VJ disappointment of "but, but.. I filed first!" *poutylip* Yeah, I know, it doesn't necessarily work like that and I'm glad we're seeing movement on the December cases. Would just like to see some movement on mine too. :)

F&B: I think your AOS sig dates are a bit out of whack. It's 2016 now.

My I-485 case changed to Ready for Interview today !

Congratulations. It appears both of those who have posted here with interviews being scheduled are local to California. Presumably this is not just a coincidence and how quickly a local office processes has some overall bearing on timescales? Does anyone have any insight into this?

Local office I-485 processing times are on the USCIS web site. My local office, San Jose, is up to May 2015 cases. Sacramento is a bit further behind and processing cases from April 2015. Santa Ana, where someone has an interview scheduled for next month, is also at May 2015.

I guess some cases are more straightforward and USCIS might punt them to the front of the line? Maybe a case has enough evidence or was interviewed recently at a foreign Embassy to warrant a waiver/go straight to GC production? Or perhaps Californians are just lucky? :)

So although published, really the processing times should be taken with a big pinch of salt.....

I suspect your comment about a case being more straightforward than another is probably correct, so too whether an applicant has had an interview recently at a foreign embassy, as most of us from the K-1 route will have had those.

Yeah, I'm thinking a fistful of salt. In the opposite direction, there are some people in the other filer threads that have been waiting over a year for movement on their I-485s. Too much longer and they won't need to file for removal of conditions - handy but a long time in "authorized stay" limbo.

If there is some magic formula of petitioner, applicant, visa class, state of residence, filing location and the roll of a 50-sided die, I have no idea what it might be. Be very boring, easily verified, upstanding persons perhaps? With the patience of a saint and the right amount of OCD to fill in all the forms correctly.

I think we will be fortunate enough to get EAD/AP issued within 90 days. It doesn't make sense to me on how they decide to work these cases. Coming into this process, I was thinking it was based on local office, but I have seen one lady in the October thread get approved for her GC within two months! She was also living in Dallas, so her whole case was worked in NBC. I would like to think that the "Ready for Interview" message is a positive sign, but I have seen people say they have been waiting 10+ months in that step with no sign of getting interviewed.

I just hope we get ours before a year is over. I don't think we need to redo a medical exam if the AOS was sent within a year of the K-1 medical - or I hope not anyways...

Not leaving the NBC seems to be the star prize. "Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview" easily turns into "yeah, we're so busy we're pushing you back another six months" on the other threads. Which would suck.

I'm working on the principal that, since the I-485 was filed and accepted within a year of the medical, it'll be fine. We can cross that bridge as/when we come to it. :)
