I had my biometrics appointment today in Sugarland, TX today. Really easy process. Walked straight in on time, one guard checking paperwork, no queue or waiting time, just filled out a form, presented my passport and appointment letter then it was fingerprints and a single photograph. The easiest step of the process so far I would say, but maybe I got lucky with the timing and out-of-city location.

Took my husband to complete his biometrics today. Appointment was for 10:00am in Charlotte, NC. We arrived a few minutes before 10, they checked his letter and passport. He then had to fill out a form and take it to the receptionist... where he was then given a number. Based on the numbers, there was about 10 people ahead of him. It took about an hour to get through everyone and have his number called. Once he was called forward it took maybe all of 5 minutes to have his picture taken and fingerprints done.

Overall, easy and painless. Now the wait continues.

I tried submitting a service request online tonight, but it was rejected because it's within processing times. I wasn't asking for the GC, just to be able to track the progress. We are day 21 and I have a feeling that if the USCIS rep can't see our case, we won't get our biometric appointment.

My husband's name change might be completed by next week, so right now, I am wondering when I should take off from work.

At least it's just a little over a week until our 30 days hits. Maybe by then his name change will be completed and we can try to shake out a little progress!

I just came back from my biometrics - they let me do it, they were so nice! So even though I missed my original appointment at the Center in Boston that was supposed to be on 01/08 I was able to get it completed as a walk-in today.

No hassle, no grief, they asked what happened and I just said that I got it too late, the manager signed off on it and that was all. Was there at 8:45 and back out at 9:30, so not bad at all :-)

I am so relieved!

I missed my biometrics appointment on friday 1/8/2016

any advice?

called the hotline but we all know how reliable those people are

I'm glad you were able to get your biometrics done today! May I ask how you missed it? I remember that right before you had posted this that you had been waiting on your letter and I just want to know for my lookout purposes. Thanks!

We are still not able to track our case no# online. The NOA1 notice date is December 22.

So I guess we have to wait until January 22 until we can call the USCIS again :-(

We also didn't received a further letter for biometric or RFE :-(

The 21st should be 30 days, so that's just a week away. But what are they going to tell us? "Sorry, we can't see your case still. Please call us back in another 30 days. Thank you! **click!**"

thank you all! and thank you again for moral support yesterday, I was so nervous when I found out I missed it - also plenty mad at myself, see below - and they were so nice about it! At the end they had everybody complete a customer service survey and they got top marks from me on everything, my first really positive USCIS experience.

I'm glad you were able to get your biometrics done today! May I ask how you missed it? I remember that right before you had posted this that you had been waiting on your letter and I just want to know for my lookout purposes. Thanks!

Well, funny story - well I can laugh today, yesterday I wanted to bash my own head in in frustration and madness at myself - so we got our NOA1 letter fairly on time, right after coming back from a trip it was in the mailbox. But only one letter, not three like many others have reported. So in the middle of coming home and unpacking I opened the letter, looked at the type of NOA 1 (for I-485) thought "uh yeah, great it is here, two more and a biometrics letter to go", filed it with my documents and totally missed the fact that it had the appointment date and time for the biometrics right on there. In small print, because everything on there is in small print, but still, it was on there.

SOOOO, I never got four letters, only one, and that one was the NOA1 for all three, plus the Bio appt letter all rolled into one. The reason I saw it when I did, was that we are in the process of putting me on the lease and in collecting all the immigration paperwork I have to show that yes, I am here legally, I added the i-797C, took it in my hand it the info I needed immediately jumped out at me. I did a lot of swearing at myself, called USCIS, my mom and my husband and did a walk-in today. The manager asked what happened and I said I didnt "get" it until yesterday, which is absolutely true, because my brain never registered the info when looking at the darn page until yesterday. I didnt go into the whole story, they didnt really seem to mind. Man, and here I was checking the mailbox every day. No wonder I didnt get any more letters lol.

Teaches me to not look at these letters while coming home from a trip. You never know when your letters are unlike someone else's.

We are still not able to track our case no# online. The NOA1 notice date is December 22.

did you get any letters from USCIS? Or only the text messages?

I remember when we first did the i-129f application it took forever and three days until I could track it online. I kept getting an error message. And then suddenly it worked. Never understood why.

I am crossing my fingers for those of you still waiting for NOA1s... I hope you get it soon and dont have to chase anbody for it any more!!!

The other thing I learned today - from the biometrics technician who did mine - was that apparently apostrophes and hyphens dont show up in the computer. I have a hyphen in my last name now, and called it in to USCIS because it is not on my form like that. When I pointed it out today at the appointment - the computer there still shows with no hyphen - he said that their program doesnt support those symbols and it will not show up. I thought that was weird but thanked him for the info.
