I called USCIS thinking maybe we have a case number somewhere in their system, but no such luck. Today is our 13th calendar day, or 9th business day, after they received the package and they couldn't pull up anything on his A-number.

At least I have my husband here with me; he cheers me up when I am feeling down about our case. He always did that when he was over in Afg, but now having him here makes the wait so much better. A March 2015 filer filed their AOS in October and they didn't get any AOS until 11 days after their case was received. But now they have their GC on their way to them! While I think our case will have some more bumps than they did, a late NOA does not necessarily mean anything negative!

Hey,

same case here. I called USCIS yesterday to find our anything. Because I'm also still waiting for my NOA1. About 2 weeks already.

So Al what USCIS told me is that I have to wait for 30 days and they can't tell me anything before that time frame ?

I just don't get it why everybody is moving forward and we just don't here a peep ?

And you filed before us, so you should get your NOA before us. Our cases should come soon. I will check with my apartment complex tomorrow to see if it was returned, but then again, if it was returned, the USCIS would have record of that, no?

Yeah, they told us to call back in a week and a half. So a few days before January 2016? December 31st will be three weeks for us - may it not come to that!!!!!

Btw, I only sent in one Form G-325A (Biographic info) - we were supposed to send three? Oops. We were surprised at the $20 at Walgreens for the two copies we bought. Then my husband goes, "Honey, how much did we pay for these? WOW! In Afghanistan, you can buy 20 or 40 photos for $1 or $2 and they can make the photo brighter for you too." Looks like we will need another $40....whenever we get the NOA... (F)

Aaaaand it's gone! At last! And for anyone who hasn't got their photos yet, I went to FedEx and they did them for around $5 each which seems slightly more reasonable than CVS or Walgreens. Just ask at the desk and someone will take them for you.

I agree that the wait this time SHOULD be less excruciating. At least we are with our spouses this time!

Best of luck everyone!

It's so funny reading the comments about the price of passport photos...

I passed this thread to my husband to read - I couldn't stop whinging about the cost when we got mine done, so I feel validated knowing lots of other people think the same way lol

Monkeys - any good news??

We got our texts last night, despite being told yesterday by USCIS that his A-number wasn't showing any action. It's possible, because our case numbers aren't showing on USCIS yet, so maybe there is some information yet to 'load' or something or another.

Last night, we were both in a blue mood, so we went to a mall to walk around, then to dinner. As we were coming back, he got a text and I was teasing him on his lame text ringtone. He said it was from USCIS, and we were bouncing in the car making celebration sounds (that started becoming animal sounds...I know, we are six years old...Lol!) then he told me he was teasing and it wasn't USCIS. Maaaaaaan! But then he showed me the text. This man shall be punished for such cruelty to his wife! :jest: But gosh - finally!

I just took a picture of my husband in front of a white wall, cropped it to 2x2 and tiled them on an 8x10 canvas in photoshop and had it printed at walmart, then cut them out.

12 photos for $2.50

Ha ha ? I hope your husband received his punishment ?

And I have also good news, I received yesterday a email and text messages from USCIS. I'm so glad that we have at least our NOA1 now ?

I am glad to hear that; I was waiting for you! LOL

Did anyone have the "My Case Status does not recognize the receipt number entered." error? How long did it take to show with your case data? I know federal government offices will close early today, so I called USCIS early, but the automated message said they were having 'technical difficulties'. Next week has three working days, so hopefully something will show by then?

That happens to me sometimes on the website, but it works perfectly on the USCIS case status app

Did you two Hot-lanta folks get your NOA for AP? I'm going to be watching your progress because I am just wondering if our filers will see some I-485 approvals come February time. I'm thinking you ATL guys will get to that point! Just a feeling I have. ;)
