Congrats to those approved and fingers crossed for those still waiting!

In the meantime I have successfully re-entered the US after a month in Europe on my GC that is missing a hyphen... Nobody brought it up, not the guys at check-in, police/ passport control before boarding, or when re-entering. Having my husband next to me may have helped. Ticket name matched passport name, GC in hyphenated name.

Interestingly, the self-service machines upon reentering gave me a giant X over my photo, the immigration officer explained that was because the computer still has me as a J-1 exchange visitor, which I am no longer and she can easily see that. One of the easiest entries ever, except the wait was pretty long.

I had forgotten to bring our marriage certificate (oops), but also wasn't asked for it.

We are still waiting, Fingerprint Fee received dated 12/24 still.....

They said expect an answer to the service request by 6/23 behold it is 6/28.

We will try to call tomorrow and see if we can get to level 2.

Congratulations on the recent approvals! There were a chunk and seems a few more waiting on the edge to get that text and message change. I hope there aren't too many still waiting to hear, but given how slow this process is for the majority of our group, I hope you celebrate your approvals! June wasn't as active as I was hoping it would be, but we have had a good number approved.

Does anyone have any updates on any service requests submitted?

No updates on the Service Request submitted.

We will call tomorrow morning and see what we can find out.

Guys, I had my interview in Boston last Thursday and was approved on the spot. The status changed to New card is being produced and on July 1 the status changed to we approved your form I 485.

Quick question, would the validity of green card begin from the date it was approved or from a later date?

Hi Andy, I am waiting for my interview notice from the Boston USCIS, and am adjusting from J-1 visa. It seems that for you there was a 7-month wait period since filing. So, my turn may be in mid-August if all goes well. Could you please share your interview experience at the Boston USCIS either on this thread or via private message? It would be very helpful.

My interview experience was great, the officer was very friendly and yet professional.

Few questions that I can recollect were

1. How did we meet?

2. Where did marriage happen? In our case we both were in US but went to India to get married, so that probably helped.

3. My name and date of birth.

4. My spouse's name and date of birth.

5. How long have I been living in US. I have been in US on F1 and H1 for almost 10 years now and been married for over 2 years

6. How long have we lived at the current address

7. Where does my wife work

Then he asked if I had additional documentation, I gave him our renewed lease, joined bank statement and some pictures from our recent trip.

Then he said the golden words. Congrats, I am approving you.

Congratulations! My Green Card has a validity date starting two days before the date of approval reflected on my Welcome Letter. I have no idea why or if this is normal, but I think it's from approval date or thereabout.

We are still awaiting news of GC. Our i-485 status has not changed after receiving our RFIE response. Wondering when they will finish processing our files!

Is there any NJ filer here? Thought of comparing notes with them.

Interesting, my status changed from we ordered new card to we approved your I 485 next Day and has not changed since. How long did it take for them from your interview date to change the status to card was mailed to you? Thanks in advance.

Don't worry, the same happened to me. The status switched to card mailed after four days, and it arrived two days or so after that. You will have it soon!
