Question, it seems that they are servicing the DEC filers? The dates that people are entering in, are you referring to the date USCIS received your application or the PD date that you were given based on the I-130 application?

We are well behind you in regards to when we submitted our application but if the wait is really this long then it's going to be one looooong summer!

I feel for you guys waiting this long with no action... Is it your local office being the hold up?

You can't gauge the true speed of approvals from the official stats as they seem to be well behind in their reporting.

Is it worth contacting them or that not proven to be of any use?

Woot Woot !!

1. Wife is on her 4th day on her new job and it seems like she is enjoying it.

2. She passed her CA DL written test 2 days ago and practicing, she is learning quick.

I am hiring a professional to take her out on main roads for insurance purposes lol..

Now a question, she did her Biometrics for AOS on 5/5, when should we follow up USCIS for either: interview schedule or no interview (GC)?

Some of the November filers are getting to the six month point. One or two have been told that their case is at the local office, but their case status hasn't changed. I can't tell if there are many waiting from the October thread. It seems like our thread will hit the six month mark next month. The USCIS timelines updated as if March 31st, so hopefully some of us can look forward to some action in the next month or two!

Hi everyone, just looking for some help or insight here. We submitted AOS in December... everything went smoothly, had biometrics in January then got an RFIE. Eventually my husband got his EAD/AP card at the beginning of March. And now our main AOS case hasn't been touched since January 26, 2016.

What do we do now? Is there someone we get in contact with... do we submit a request? Do we just keep waiting?

My husband has a great job now and his drivers license, and is set to travel back to the UK at the end of June.

Just feels weird that we haven't heard anything for so long now.

Thanks!

I would really suggest waiting until after the interview. The letter will probably say to bring the I-693, if necessary. I would wait until they specifically said that you NEED the medical done. The requirement says "you are not required to have another medical examination at time of adjustment as long as:

  • Your Form I-485 is filed within 1 year of your overseas medical examination
  • The medical examination did not reveal a Class A medical condition
  • If you did have a Class A medical condition, you received a waiver of inadmissibility and you have complied with the terms and conditions of the waiver"

Since you filed your AOS within a year of your medical, you shouldn't need to have another one done. I know you don't want a medical exam to plug up the process, but you may end up spending hundreds of dollars for no reason. I am one of those "better safe than sorry" folks, but on this one, I don't think it's necessary. We were in the process of getting all the vaccinations and was planning on getting the I-693 prepared for vaccination history a few days before my husband's GC was issued.

You may want to find a reasonable civil surgeon in your area just in case, but I would wait. We all still have at least one month until we reach the six month mark. If your AOS was submitted before your medical hit one year, then I would suggest sitting tight. Notice how it doesn't say that your medical is only good for one year, but that you need a new medical if your AOS was submitted after the year mark of the overseas medical.

That is really useful information, thank you. Do you have a link to a government website source in case any of us need to refer USCIS to it?
