My fiancé went to his medical today. Everything was fine except his blood pressure was too high. They gave him a letter to give to his doctor. He's going to his doctor this Fri.

The medical center they're holding his information once they receive letter from his doctor takes 2 days to review. They said at that point they'd either forward medical to embassy or contact my fiancé if more info is needed.

At this point what should we do regarding interview. Should I call NVC for interview date about 5 days after his doctor sends letter? Would his interview letter be sent to him prior to embassy receiving medical?

The embassy schedule the interview not NVC. They will not do that until they have the medical in hand.

Unless things have changed drastically since I did mine, in which case I'll be corrected quickly. Check the guides at the top of this forum and it'll tell you if that's still the case.

I agree with Nobbie. When the embassy eventually receives his medical results, they will put him in line to wait for an interview assignment (providing he has already submitted the other requirements.)

You might want to read the instruction page your fiance was given in his letter. It explains the procedure for a K1. There is a "please note" in red explaining about the medical results.

Is it already that we already completed the DS160 and notification of readiness?

Is it alright that we already completed the DS160 and notification of readiness?

Would we need to resubmit motivation of readiness?

No . The form means he has all his personal documents in hand to take to the interview...police report(s), birth certificate, divorce decree, military record, affidavit of support from fiance...whatever applies to him. If he already notified them he had those documents ready, then he doesn't have to tell them again. But just because he has his documents ready does not mean he gets an interview if the embassy does not have the medical results.

Ok Thanks

I kept telling him to go to his GP prior to medical exam but of course he didn't listen to me. ?

I applied through London too and had the same issue at the medical, high blood pressure. Once it was sorted at the doctors I got the results to show it was normal and scanned and emailed them to Knightsbridge. They replied the same day saying they had the results and then it wasn't long after that CEAC changed and so I knew that he London embassy had the results. Then I got a letter about two weeks later with my interview date.

I had done the DS160 and notification of readiness before the medical and didn't have to do these again.

I would recommend once it is sorted to scan and email the results to Knightsbridge as it seemed to be a lot quicker.

Same for me. I did my DS-160 a couple of months before the medical (9th October) & the readiness the week before. I got a GP letter for swollen thyroid which took the best part of 6 weeks before I sent the scanned GP letter back to Knightsbridge on 17th November. Interview letter arrived today. From my experience Knightsbridge are pretty efficient at getting the results over to the embassy about 2 days after the receive the scanned letter.

He has an appt with doctor tomorrow evening to get a prescription for treatment. Do you think the doctor would give letter tomorrow or after a follow-up appt to confirm his pressure is regulated? How long did it take to get letter from your doctor?

Thanks

It took 6 weeks for you to send the letter. Omg

I hope it doesn't take that long.

Mine wasn't really straightforward. I had to see the GP, then referred for a specialist appointment, then an ultrasound referral, then a follow up with the specialist after the ultrasound results.

High blood pressure should be pretty straightforward & sorted by the GP.

Yes a letter showing that it is being treated should be fine. In my case I went and mine was back to normal so they gave me the results which I sent to Knightsbridge and they accepted that and didn't need a letter confirming it.

If he requests a letter he should get it tomorrow, might cost £20 though. Alternatively something showing the prescription might be OK too.

Good luck.
