N-400 December 2015 Filers

Looks like everyone is getting scheduled almost exactly 5 weeks (same day of the week) from the interview update. It's true for most of us recently and in other groups too. But it makes sense that the interview will be a day or two late for some people if the interview slots for that day are already full.

Such a matter-of-fact update, Spmaria... I was expecting fireworks and dancing in the streets...

I Know..I expected some fireworks. Such an anti-climax...lol. My interview is in 5 days and I can hardly wait.

Ahahaha sorry guys, I've danced too much in front of my mail box, got no energy left for fireworks XDD But I've already gathered all the documents to take with me to the interview. I'm ready!! ?

Yay! Your interview is exactly one week after mine, Spmaria... but hopefully you'll be approved and get a same day ceremony and you'll end up beating me to the finish line by about a week... if all goes well for us both!

I want to take an oath that day and stop thinking about USCIS for ages. And get the passport because Russian consulates takes its time to give me my Russian passport. Aaaaa can't wait.... And thank you )))

Looks like in this December thread two major patterns were established: dates to be placed in line for early fillers and dates of the interviews after being scheduled. That's cool!

i am seeking any kind of help regarding my N400 application, i applied on october 3rd and my case was accepted on the 8th of oct. since then i have not received any kind of updates, its almost 8 months now and nothing has changed, i submitted a case inquiry and this was the response:

"Based on your inquiry, we have reviewed the status of your case and found that it remains under active examination. This office acknowledges the completion of your case being outside of the normal processing and realizes the inconvenience it may cause. The delay has been necessary in order to ensure the thorough processing of your case and provide you with the best possible service. USCIS will notify you as soon as possible if any further information is needed from you, or when a decision has been made."

any ideas or suggestions?

i am so worried if it ended up in the many years of endless waiting>

You say that you have received nothing since the notice that your case was accepted. Can you confirm that you never received a biometrics notice and never had your fingerprints taken?

If that's the case, then they have not started processing your case at all and it was likely lost. There's nothing for them to process until you've been fingerprinted. They should have sent you a letter for fingerprinting a week after you got your receipt notice. Since there's nothing for them to process at this point, then I think that if you do nothing, there will be no further action on their part either.

Schedule an Infopass appointment and speak to someone in person at your local field office.

As you wait for your Infopass appointment, call and ask (insist) on speaking with a Tier II officer (an immigration officer). Explain that you have not been fingerprinted yet and it's been 8 months.

If you have finished biometrics, then you may be stuck in a really long background check. If this is the case, then your case is inline with a few other cases that are processed extremely slowly... you should still contact USCIS. Follow exactly the same steps as above, and ask if your background check has been completed or not.

Pete, for the photograph did you write a breife description and place and date on the back?

We had to prove up our marriage. I sent in the following (approximately 120 pages):

1. Receipts and itineraries from four vacations we have taken together;

2. Joint Tax Return Transcripts from 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015;

3. Joint Credit Card Statements from Nov. 2014 to March 2016;

4. Hospital bills and checks showing payment from when we miscarried;

5. Renters and Auto Insurance policies showing we are both covered on same policy from October 2013 to September 2016;

6. Joint Leases for our apartment from March 2013 to January 2017;

7. A card showing that we are jointly enrolled in a health-care cost sharing program;

8. Certified copy of a document showing our marriage is also registered in France;

9. Photographs of us together with friends and family and of our religious wedding ceremony.
