I dont get why they are making big deal of this thing? If they had any concerns they should have solved them during ROC. If ROC is approved why are they looking for more now? This should be straight forward thing.

Two things going on here:

1- Related to how you got your greencard. They double check that you got your green card legitimately. You can argue that that's as already done during ROC, but it is a condition for naturalization that you have a valid green card, so they sometimes check again. Those of us who never went through ROC may face a similar situation. Although rare, some applicants who got their greencards through their employers face questions during the interview about having switched employers.

2- Related to your current situation. Regardless of what the ROC concluded, applying based on marriage requires you to meet certain requirements at the time of naturalization. You could have got your green card legitimately and passed through ROC and then separated.

If you are applying under the 5 year rule, the second of these considerations doesn't apply, but the first still does.

No kidding. I also don't understand why they have to revisit/rehash when that was already done during ROC. If they question every decision their colleagues made for the ROC applications, that is quite a re-work.

My int is next week and I really really hope it will be easy. We had ROC, they called us for interview, they separated us and took 7 months after to make final decision. If after all of that they are going to question more...i dont know..... just hope, thats all i can do right

I got a letter from Honolulu's USCIS Office telling me that since I live on a different island and to avoid extra expenses, I may take the Oath on the same day as my interview.

Nice. That worked out well.

So I called in about an hour ago to see if my oath date was available even though the system only said that I was in line for oath scheduling. I got off the phone and not five minutes later I got a status change text. I called back in. No luck finding out the date but was told that the letter was mailed on the 29th. I just hope they don't do what Jimmy has me freaked out about which is schedule me for THIS Friday!!! Very unlikely of course but I'm still a bit paranoid!

I am a little antsy! Did my interview last week Tuesday. Got the awful "Decision cannot be made" piece of paper. Its been over a week and there has not been a change in my status online. Not even the "supervisory review" status. Just wondering what might going on. The IO and I had a little back and forth about my eligibility to apply under the 3 yr rule since my wife and I are living apart due to out Job situations. She told me her supervision will have to review my case.

Dear my all VJ-ers,

I just want to say I get approved on 03/30, :D

there is no words to express how thankful i am to VJ friends for helping every step in this journey.

The interview was fast and smooth, even if i was really nervous but the IO was nice and always repeated "Relax, relax,..." haha

she started with Civics test

1. what is freedom of religion?

2. how many U.S senators are there?

3. when must all men register for the selective service?

4. when was the constitution written?

5. Name one state that borders Canada?

6. what ocean is on the east coast of the United States?

I answered 6/6 and she moved on to N-400 yes/no questions.

then she announced that I passed. woooohoooooo

she asked if I could attend the Oath this friday, but then she came to me and said it is not available. So she moved to Monday 4/4/2015 and I said YES, then asked me to wait 15-20 mins to hand me the Oath letter.

Omg i could not believe that I finish my immigrant journey, now Im ready to start K1 visa for my fiance.

Thanks all my VJ buddies.

one more thing I want to ask, regarding to my US passport.

I have plan to travel back to Brazil on 6th May. so I have 1 month ahead,

- Is that enough to make my passport?

- What should I prepare for my passport application?
